Box Score Stevens Point, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse softball team fell 4-1 at UW-Stevens Point in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Quarterfinal (presented by Culver's) Tuesday afternoon at McCarty Memorial Field. The Eagles finish the season at 14-14 while the Pointers improve to 23-15 and advance to the tournament semifinals on Thursday, May 13.

The game was scoreless until UW-Stevens Point tallied three runs in the bottom of the third. Allie Meyers singled to start the inning and was replaced by pinch-runner Jayden Prondzinski. After a strikeout, Lauren Luedtke singled with Prondzinski advancing to second. After a flyout for the second out of the inning, Sammy Buerger singled home Prondzinski with the game's first run. Megan Lawrence followed with a two-run single knocking in Luedtke and Buerger to make it 3-0.
The Pointers took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth. Maddie Candre's two-out double scored Rachael Wakefield.
UWL got on the board in the top of the sixth on
Jordyn McCormack's lead-off home run to cut the lead to 4-1.

Maddie Muelken (7-8) suffered the loss for UWL, pitching 4.0 innings, allowing seven hits, four runs (three earned) and two walks while striking out three.
Sydne Shattuck went 2.0 innings, allowing two walks with one strikeout. The Eagles finished with six hits.

Makenna Tkach (17-6) earned the victory for UW-Stevens Point, going 7.0 innigs, allowing six hits, one run and two walks with 12 strikeouts. Seven different players had a hit for the Pointers.
