Stevens Point, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team continued its 2021 indoor season with a dual at UW-Stevens Point Saturday afternoon. The Eagles finished with 71.0 team points while the Pointers totaled 59.0.
UWL recorded seven individual first-place finishes on Saturday, including four in the field events.
Ashley O'Connell won the pole vault (11-10 3/4) while
Nicole Lord captured the long jump (18-1 3/4),
Jessica Stelzner the triple jump (37-1) and
Pamela Gramer the weight throw (54-11 1/4).
On the track, the Eagles'
Emily Dawidowich won the 60-meter dash (7.89) while
Mara Schroeder took the 400-meter dash (1:01.10) and
Emma Lawrence the 60-meter hurdles (8.76).
Katie Banie, Schroeder, Lawrence and
Amber Johnson won the 4x400-meter relay (4:02.97).
Madison Page was second in the long jump (17-3 1/2) on Saturday while
Gabby Johnson placed third in the triple jump (33-8). The Eagles'
Izzy Carroll finished second (38-7 1/2) and Sarah Hulstead third (38-4) in the shot put.
Leah Surprenant finished second (47-7 3/4) in the weight throw.
Other top finishes on the track included
Aly Reuvers second in the 60-meter dash (7.98) while
Savannah Rygiewicz was second (26.26) and
Kelly Aldrich third (26.31) in the 200-meter dash.
Liz Knoernschild was fourth in the 400-meter dash (1:02.06). Banie paced second in the 800-meter run (2:19.11) with
Jana Dawson third (19:50.12) and
Bethany Miller fourth (19:55.22) in the 5,000-meter run.
Clair Shepardson finished third (9.35) in the 60-meter hurdles.
