Box Score La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's basketball team earned its eighth straight win over UW-Platteville with a 76-50 victory Wednesday night in Mitchell Hall. The Eagles, ranked 23rd on D3hoops.com, improve to 15-5 overall and 6-3 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while the Pioneers fall to 11-9 overall and 3-6 in the conference.
Ava Kramer had 14 points, five rebounds and three steals.
The first half featured seven lead changes with neither team leading by more than six points. UWL led, 7-2, with 7:25 left in the first quarter after hitting three of its first four shots from the field. UW-Platteville took a 20-19 lead after the first quarter on Kaite Asche's three-pointer with :01 remaining.
The Pioneers took their largest lead of the game at 29-23 with 5:55 left in the second quarter on a pair of Maiah Domask free throws. The Eagles cut it to 31-29 with 4:04 remaining on an
Ava Kramer jumper, but both teams went scoreless the rest of the half to keep the score at 31-29.
Rachel Emendorfer's layup for UW-Platteville tied the game, 33-33, with 8:04 left in the third quarter. UWL used an 13-2 run to take a 46-35 advantage with 2:54 remaining. The Pioneers cut their deficit to 46-38, but
Delaney Schoenenberger's three-pointer and Kramer's layup gave the Eagles a 51-38 lead. UWL led, 53-43, after three quarters.

UWL opened the fourth quarter scoring the first 12 points to take a 65-43 lead on
Kyah Steiner's layup with 5:22 remaining. UW-Platteville could get no closer than 20 points the rest of the game.
UWL shot 53.2% from the field, including 25.0% (four-of-16) from three-point range, and 60.0% (six-of-10) at the line. The Eagles shot 58.8% (20-of-34) from the field in the second half. Steiner led UWL with a career-high 17 points Wednesday night, finishing seven-of-11 from the field (one-of-two from three-point range) and two-of-three at the free throw line. Kramer totaled 14 points, five rebounds and three steals while Schoenenberger finished with 12 points and five rebounds.
UW-Platteville shot 33.9% from the field, including 25.0% (five-of-20) from three-point range, and 58.3% (seven-of-12) at the line. Domask led the Pioneers with 12 points while adding six rebounds and three steals. Clemons finished with 10 points.
UWL returns to action Saturday, February 8 at UW-Oshkosh at 3 p.m.
