2019 NCAA III Championships Website
Geneva, Ohio - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team completed first day action at the 2019 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships Thursday night at SPIRE Institute.
The Eagles'
Samuel Sadowski finished 11th (23-4) in the long jump Thursday while
Thomas Schultz was 15th (31:59.57) in the 10,000-meter run.
In preliminary track action, UWL's 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays both advanced to Saturday's final.

James Hoesley and
Justin Kotarak advanced in the 4x100-meter relay with the fourth-fastest time (40.98) while
Collin Meyer,
Will Seeser,
Joshua Desorcy and
Jake Sullivan advanced in the 4x400-meter relay with the fifth-fastest time (3:13.32).
Charlie Handrick advanced to Saturday's final in the 400-meter hurdles after placing sixth (52.94) in the preliminaries while Seeser failed to advance with an 11th-place finish (53.65).
Zachary Shoemaker-Allen advanced to the finals on Saturday in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a 10th-place finish (9:15.65) in the prelims.
Joshua Schraeder did not advance in the 1,500-meter run after placing 15th (4:01.70) in the prelims.
UWL won its NCAA Division III record 15th outdoor title, including third straight, at the SPIRE Institute in 2017. The Eagles have won outdoor national championships in 1988, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1997, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017. UWL also has an NCAA Division III record 18 indoor titles, sweeping the indoor and outdoor titles on 12 occasions (1988, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1997, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2013, 2017).
The Eagles have recorded 30 top-10 finishes, including 27 in the top-four, at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships.
UWL has 49 individual outdoor national champions in school history. The Eagles have won six 4x400-meter relay national titles (1992, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2016) and three 4x100-meter relay crowns (2004, 2015, 2018). UWL's

Action continues at 9 a.m. (Central) on Friday, May 24 and 10 a.m. (Central) on Saturday, May 25. The top-eight finishers in each event earn NCAA Division III All-America honors. The top-22 female and top-20 male times/marks in event along with the top-16 relays teams in the nation qualified for the national championships.
