1987 Men’s Indoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team captured its first-ever NCAA Division III Indoor Championship in 1987 hosted by the University of Chicago (Ill.), scoring 44.5 points. Head coach Joe Thompson led UW-La Crosse to the title.

Terry Strouf won a pair of national titles, capturing first in the weight throw and shot put. Evan Perkins captured the championship in the triple jump.
Individual All-America honors included Ketil Hansen (fifth in 1,500-meter run); Eric Keller (fifth in triple jump); Bruce Nelson (fourth in pole vault); Chris Schumacher (third in triple jump) and Mike Wolf (sixth in high jump).

1988 Men’s Indoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team won the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship in 1988 hosted by Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, scoring 36.0 points. It was the first of 12 indoor national titles under head coach Mark Guthrie.

Terry Strouf repeated as national champion in the weight throw and shot put. Individual All-America honors included Brad Hall (sixth in long jump); Eric Keller (fifth in triple jump); Troy Nelson (second in shot put); and Earl Novotney (sixth in 400-meter dash) with Novotney, Dante Banks, Dane Christensen and Raj Shah fourth in the 4x400-meter relay.
 
1991 Men’s Indoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team won the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship in 1991 hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois, scoring 58.0 points under head coach Mark Guthrie.

Dean Cash captured the NCAA III title in the triple jump. Individual All-America honors included Todd Bruss (sixth in triple jump); Mark Elworthy (third in 5,000-meter run); Jim Huemmer (sixth in pole vault); Chris Mailand (second in pole vault); Jeremy Martens (fifth in long jump); Bruce Reynolds (third in high jump) and Bill Schroeder (second in long jump, third in triple jump) while Rob Bean, David Coates, Dan Christensen and Chad Wilkinson were second in the 4x400-meter relay.

1992 Men’s Indoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team won the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship in 1992 hosted by UW-Stevens Point, scoring 57.0 points under head coach Mark Guthrie.

Bill Schroeder captured the NCAA III title in the triple jump and placed second in the long jump. Individual All-America honors included Chris Carley (third in 400-meter dash); Dean Cash (third in triple jump); David Coates (fifth in 400-meter dash); Brian Emond (sixth in 55-meter hurdles); Robert Glynn (fifth in weight throw); Eddie Holzem (sixth in 1,500-meter run); Chris Mailand (fourth in pole vault); Jeremy Martens (third in long jump); Dave McLaren (fifth in shot put); Doug Oomens (fourth in weight throw) and Bruce Reynolds (third in high jump).

1993 Men’s Indoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team won the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship in 1993 hosted by Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, scoring 70.0 points under head coach Mark Guthrie.

Bill Schroeder won the long jump national title while finishing second in the triple jump. Individual All-America honors included Chris Carley (third in long jump); Doug Clary (third in pole vault); David Coates (third in 400-meter dash); Chris Diller (sixth in pole vault); Jeremy Martens (fourth in long jump); Doug Oomens (second in weight throw) and Norris Thomas (second in 55-meter dash, second in 55-meter hurdles) while Coates, Eric Gansen, Brian Emond and Chad Wilkinson were third in the 4x400-meter relay.
 
1994 Men’s Indoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team won the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship in 1994 hosted by UW-Oshkosh, scoring 50.0 points under head coach Mark Guthrie. It marked the Eagles’ fourth straight indoor title.

David Coates won the national title in the 400-meter dash while Mike Schnur captured the pole vault crown. Individual All-America honors included Rob Bunke (fifth in long jump); Doug Clary (sixth in pole vault); Travis Erickson (third in long jump); Marcos Fredrick (fifth in shot put); Tim Hess (second in high jump); Eddie Holzem (sixth in 1,500-meter run); Pat Nowak (fifth in 1,500-meter run) and Mahdi Omar (fourth in 5,000-meter run) while Rob Bean, Coates, Chad Wilkinson and Eric Gansen fourth in the 4x400-meter relay.

1997 Men’s Indoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team won the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship in 1997 hosted by UW-Oshkosh, scoring 44.0 points under head coach Mark Guthrie.

Dave Whiteis won the national title in the 400-meter dash. Individual All-America honors included Brett Altergott (fifth in 5,000-meter run); Geoff Biegler (fourth in pole vault); Ryan Carlson (fifth in weight throw); Jeff Czebotar (sixth in triple jump); Chris Kaufmann (third in pole vault); Erick Lehet (third in weight throw); Dan Murphy (sixth in 5,000-meter run) and Brad Wilson (third in 1,500-meter run) while Scott Kazik, Phil Vetterkind, Whiteis and Wilson were third in the 4x400-meter relay.

2001 Men’s Indoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team won the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship in 2001 hosted by UW-Oshkosh, scoring 58.0 points under head coach Mark Guthrie. It started a string of six consecutive indoor national titles for the Eagles.

Jim Nelson won the national title in the shot put with Adam McKahan, Charlie Wittleder, Jesse Reed and Kevin Yarbrough taking the championship in the 4x400-meter relay. Individual All-America honors included Tyler Foos (third in 5,000-meter run); Mike Koenning (third in 35-pound weight throw); McKahan (fourth in 400-meter dash); Andrew Rock (second in 400-meter dash); Hans Schmidt (second in pole vault) and Dan Tutskey (third in 55-meter dash).
 
2002 Men’s Indoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team won the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship in 2002 hosted by Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio, scoring 54.0 points under head coach Mark Guthrie.

Andy Basler won the national title in the long jump with Andrew Rock capturing the 400-meter dash championship. Individual All-America honors included Tyler Foos (fifth in 5,000-meter run); Jake Hines (sixth in 35-pound weight throw); Adam McKahan (seventh in 400-meter dash); Jim Nelson (seventh in shot put); Ben Stern (third in pole vault); Mike Turgeon (fifth in 35-pound weight throw); Dan Tutskey (third in 55-meter dash) and Phil Whitesitt (seventh in 35-pound weight throw) while Derek Toshner, Charlie Wittleder, Rock and Jesse Reed finished second in the 4x400-meter relay.

2003 Men’s Indoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team won the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship in 2003 hosted by DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, scoring 71.0 points under head coach Mark Guthrie.

Andrew Rock won 400-meter dash national title and Hans Schmidt the pole vault while Rock, Charlie Wittleder, Kris Smith and Derek Toshner captured the 4x400-meter relay. Individual All-America honors included Herc Hyland (second in long jump); Jim Nelson (fifth in shot put); Matt Pagel (sixth in 55-meter dash); Toshner (fourth in 55-meter hurdles); Mike Turgeon (fourth in 35-pound weight throw); Phil Whitesitt (fifth in 35-pound weight throw) and Charlie Wittleder (fifth in 400-meter dash) while Andy Grupa, Eric Schmidt, Dan Haumschild and Mark Creger finished second in the distance medley relay.

2004 Men’s Indoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team won the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship in 2004 hosted by UW-Whitewater, scoring 70.0 points under head coach Mark Guthrie.

Andrew Rock won his third straight 400-meter dash national title and Hans Schmidt his second consecutive pole vault crown while Derek Toshner, Nate Olson, Jeremy Deterville and Rock captured the 4x400-meter relay. Individual All-America honors included Kevin Becker (fourth in 35-pound weight throw); Ben Dorsey (fourth in 55-meter dash); Olson (second in 400-meter dash); Matt Pagel (second in 55-meter dash); and Phil Whitesitt (third in 35-pound weight throw) while Andy Grupa, Tony Marcinek, Dan Haumschild and Gabe Siehr were second in the distance medley relay.
 
2005 Men’s Indoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team won the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship in 2005 hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois, scoring 53.0 points under head coach Mark Guthrie.

Nate Olson won the 400-meter dash national title with Jeremy Deterville, Tony Marcinek, Olson and Nolan Hietpas capturing the 4x400-meter relay. Individual All-America honors included Mike Herlihy (fifth in mile run); Herc Hyland (second in triple jump, fifth in long jump); Matt Novak (fourth in pole vault); Nick Pergande (second in pole vault); Bobby Riley (seventh in shot put) and Phil Vargas (seventh in high jump).

2006 Men’s Indoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team won the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship in 2006 hosted by Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, scoring 78.0 points under head coach Mark Guthrie. It marked the Eagles’ sixth consecutive championship.

Nate Olson won his second straight 400-meter dash national title with Kevin Becker capturing the 35-pound weight throw and Nick Pergande the pole vault. UWL swept the relays with Tony Marcinek, Olson, John Doble and Jeremy Deterville winning the 4x400-meter relay and Kevin Oelstrom, Eric Svestka, Andrew Boldt and Mike Herlihy the distance medley relay. Individual All-America honors included Jon Heinz (third in pole vault); Marcinek (fifth in 400-meter dash); Matt Novak (second in pole vault); Alex Tapplin (seventh in pole vault) and Marcus Walgrave (second in 55-meter hurdles).

2008 Men’s Indoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team won the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship in 2008 hosted by Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio, scoring 43.0 points under head coach Don Fritsch.

Bobby Riley won his second straight national title in the shot put with Alex Rooker, Dylan Randolph, Jon Doble and David Kolbe capturing the 4x400-meter relay. Individual All-America honors included Jessie Dengsavang (sixth in triple jump); Kolbe (sixth in 400-meter dash); David Stauder (eighth in high jump) and Paul Zdroik (second in mile run) while Kevin Oelstrom, Randolph, Andrew Boldt and Paul Zdroik placed second in the distance medley relay.
 
2009 Men’s Indoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team tied for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship in 2009 with UW-Oshkosh hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana, scoring 32.0 points under head coach Josh Buchholtz. It marked the first indoor national title under Buchholtz. 

Bobby Riley won his third consecutive national title in the shot put. Individual All-America honors included Dallas Vincent (second in 5,000-meter run) and Bill Warren (seventh in shot put) while Zach Wilhelmy, Paul Yerhot, Ryan Mendez and Vincent placed second in the distance medley relay and Alex Rooker, Yerhot, Terrance Thigpen and Ryan Mendez fifth in the 4x400-meter relay.

2013 Men’s Indoor Track and Field 
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team won the 2013 NCAA Division III Indoor Championship in Naperville, Illinois, scoring 74.0 points under head coach Josh Buchholtz.  

Aric Hoeschen won the 400-meter dash title while Isaac Vazquez captured the triple jump. Jacob Peterson, Cyrus Mason, Jamie Bottcher and David Stilin took the distance medley relay national crown. Individual All-America honors included Vazquez (second in long jump); Grant Harvard (fourth in 35-pound weight throw); Jerry Kerska (seventh in mile run); Bryan Klister (fourth in pole vault); Alex Koenen (fifth in 60-meter dash); Rob Rohe (second in pole vault); Sean Royer (third in 800-meter run); David Sikorski (eighth in 60-meter dash) and Tyson Young, Christian Wendland, Nick Tehan and Hoeschen (third in 4x400-meter relay).

 2014 Men’s Indoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team won its second straight NCAA Division III Indoor Championship under head coach Josh Buchholtz in Lincoln, Nebraska, scoring 63.5 points. 

Dominique Neloms won the long jump title. Individual All-America honors included Alex Ciesielski (eighth in 5,000-meter run); John Cooper (second in 35-pound weight throw); Ross Denman (fourth in 400-meter dash); Grant Havard (third in 35-pound weight throw); Bryan Klister (fourth in pole vault); Alex Koenen (third in 60-meter dash, seventh in 200-meter dash); Jacob Peterson (fifth in mile run) and Rob Rohe (third in pole vault). Zak Wallenfang, Dean McGuire, Nick Tehan and Ross Denman were third in the 4x400-meter relay while Tom Linner, Cyrus Mason, Cole Hauenstein and Andrew Rohlman finished fourth in the distance medley relay.
 
2017 Men’s Indoor Track and Field 
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team captured the 2017 NCAA Division III Indoor Championship in Naperville, Illinois, scoring 34.0 points under head coach Josh Buchholtz.

Zak Wallenfang, Sam Smith, Joshua Desorcy and Ross Denman won the national championship in the 4x400-meter relay. Other individual All-America honors included Denman (second in 200-meter dash); Jonah Bauer (eighth in 60-meter dash); Joe Hinz (third in 800-meter run); Andrew Jarrett (third in 35-pound weight throw) and Christian Morzinski (seventh in 35-pound weight throw). Michael Rosenberg, Benjamin Jordan, Christopher Cutter and Ian Ewers were eighth in the distance medley relay.


2023 Men’s Indoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team started a streak of three consecutive NCAA Division III Indoor Championship titles in 2023 in Birmingham, Alabama, scoring 35.0 points under head coach Josh Buchholtz. 

Sam Blaskowski and Ethan Gregg won individual national titles as Blaskowski captured the 60-meter dash and Gregg the 3,000-meter run. Blaskowski was also second in the 200-meter dash while Gregg placed third in the 5,000-meter run. Logan Larson placed eighth in the pole vault.

2024 Men’s Indoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team captured the 2024 NCAA Division III Indoor Championship titles in Virginia Beach, Virginia, scoring 74.0 points under head coach Josh Buchholtz. 

Sam Blaskowski won a pair of national titles, taking first in the 60 and 200-meter dash. Ethan Gregg won the 3,000-meter run and Cael Schoemann the 800-meter run. Gregg also earned All-America honors with a second-place finish in the 5,00-meter run. Other individual All-America honors included Grant Matthai earning two (fifth in 5,000-meter run, eighth in 3,000-meter run) awards. Nathan Andringa (seventh in high jump); Aidan Matthai (eighth in 5,000-meter run); Luke Schroeder (fourth in 200-meter dash); Ben Youngworth (eighth in shot put) and Jayden Zywicki (fifth in mile run). Addison Hill, Collin Conzemius, Caden Pearce and Chase Doornink were second in the 4x400-meter relay.
 
2025 Men’s Indoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men’s indoor track and field team won its third straight NCAA Division III Indoor Championship in 2025 in Rochester, New York, scoring 84.0 points under head coach Josh Buchholtz.

Sam Blaskowski swept the 60 and 200-meter dash national titles while Grant Matthai took the 5,000-meter run and Cael Schoemann his second straight 800-meter run. Mathai was also fourth in the 3,000-meter run. Other individual All-America awards included Aidan Matthai and Carter Pearson with two each Matthai was fourth in the 5,000-meter run and seventh in the 3,000-meter run. Pearson placed fourth in the triple jump and sixth in the long jump. Nathan Andringa (fourth in high jump); Connor Boyle (11th in pole vault); William Cady (10th in triple jump); Collin Conzemius (third in 400-meter dash); Chase Doornink (11th in 400-meter dash); Sebastian Jefferson (eighth in long jump); Adam Loenser (eighth in 3,000-meter run); Gabe Olson (16th in triple jump); Andrew Tumminaro (eighth in pole vault); Chuck Vater (14th in 3,000-meter run) and Jayden Zywicki (10th in mile run). Jacob Hohman, Doornink, Devin Williams and Conzemius were third in the4x400-meter relay with Joey Sullivan, Tyler Backes, Dirk Lueck and Loenser fifth in the distance medley relay).
