UW-La Crosse men's outdoor track and field won the 1988 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship in Northfield, Minnesota, scoring 54.0 points under head coach Mark Guthrie.
Keith Dryden and Terry Strouf won individual NCAA titles as Dryden won the high jump and Strouf captured the discus and shot put. Other individual All-American honors included Jim Batchelor (second in steeplechase); Chris Hall (sixth in 5,000-meter run); Troy Nelson (third in shot put) and Darin Shepardson (sixth in steeplechase).

Ajamu Olaniyan and David Coates won individual NCAA titles as Olaniyan captured the title in triple jump and Coates the 200-meter dash. Other individual All-American honors included Bill Schroeder earning two with fourth-place finishes in the triple and long jump. Doug Clary (fourth in pole vault); Brian Emond (fifth in 400-meter hurdles); Chris Mailand (fifth in pole vault); Jeremy Martens (second in long jump); Bruce Reynolds (fourth in high jump); Doug Oomens (sixth in discus); Craig Rowe (sixth in triple jump) and Derek Schaefer (sixth in high jump) earned All-America honors. Rob Bean, Chris Carley, Coates, and Martens took second in the 4x100-meter relay.

Bruce Reynolds won the NCAA title in the high jump. Rob Bean, Chris Carley, David Coates, and Chad Wilkinson captured the 4x400 meter relay. Other individual All-American honors included Coates and Schroeder earning two individual awards as Coates placed third in the 200-meter dash and fourth in the 100-meter dash. Schroeder finished second in the long and triple jump. Bean (seventh in 200-meter dash); Carley (second in 400-meter dash); Doug Clary (sixth in pole vault); Robert Glynn (eighth in hammer throw); Eddie Holzem (sixth in 1,500-meter run) and Jeremy Martens (fourth in long jump) earned individual All-America honors. Bean, Coates, Martens, and Schroeder took third in the 4x100-meter relay.

Bill Schroeder earned five individual All-America honors, finishing second in the long jump, third in the triple jump and javelin, fourth in the 100-meter dash and seventh in the 200-meter dash. David Coates earned a pair of awards, placing second in the 200-meter dash and seventh in the 400-meter dash. Other individual All-American honors included Doug Clary (sixth in triple jump); Brian Emond (second in 400-meter hurdles); Greg Goat (fifth in discus, seventh in shot put); Chris Mailand (fifth in pole vault); Jeremy Martens (third in long jump) and Mike Schnur (third in pole vault) earned All-America awards. Coates, Emond, Martens, and Schroeder took third in the 4x100 meter relay. Chris Carley, Emond, Eric Gansen, and Chad Wilkinson took fourth in the 4x400-meter relay.

Brett Altergott and Mike Schnur won individual NCAA titles as Altergott captured the title in the steeplechase and Schnur the pole vault. Ryan Carlson and Erick Lehet each earned two individual All-America accolades. Carlson was second in the discus and fifth in the hammer throw while Lehet placed sixth in the discus and hammer throw. Other individual All-American honors included Geoff Biegler (fourth in pole vault); Chris Kaufman (third in pole vault); Dan Murphy (eighth in 10,000-meter run); Mason Rebarchek (seventh in 110-meter hurdles); Mike Schnur (seventh in decathlon); Bryan Vannes (seventh in triple jump); Phil Vetterkind (seventh in 400-meter dash); Dave Whiteis (sixth in 400-meter dash) and Brad Wilson (fifth in 1,500-meter run). Scott Crothers, Andy Renz, Chip Tancil, and Aaron Taylor took fourth in the 4x100-meter relay.
2001 Men’s Outdoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men's outdoor track and field won the 2001 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship in Decatur, Illinois, scoring 80.0 points under head coach Mark Guthrie. It started a streak of four consecutive national championships.
Mike Koenning, Jim Nelson, and Hans Schmidt captured individual NCAA titles as Koenning won the hammer throw, Nelson the shot put, and Schmidt the pole vault. Andrew Rock and Dan Tutskey each earned two individual All-America honors. Rock was second in the 400-meter dash and eighth in the 200-meter dash with Tutskey finishing fifth in the 100-meter dash and seventh in the 200-meter dash. Other individual All-American honors included Tim Amann (eighth in shot put); Adam McKahan (seventh in 400-meter dash); Ross Substad (second in 3,000-meter steeplechase); Derek Walgrave (second in 110-meter hurdles) and Charlie Wittleder (fifth in 400-meter hurdles). Ken Larson, Rock, Chip Trapnell, and Tutskey took second in the 4x100-meter relay. Jason Haas, Adam McKahan, Jesse Reed, and Kevin Yarbrough took fifth in 4x400-meter relay.

Derek Toshner and Mike Turgeon won individual NCAA titles as Toshner captured the 400-meter hurdles and Turgeon the discus. Dan Tutskey earned two individual All-America accolades, finishing second in the 100-meter dash and third in the 200-meter dash. Other individual All-American honors included Andrew Rock (second in 200-meter dash); Ben Stern (sixth in pole vault) and Charlie Wittleder (eighth in 400-meter hurdles). Rock, Darrick Smith, Tutsky, and Wittleder took second in the 4x100-meter relay. Jason Haas, Jesse Reed, Kris Smith, and Toshner took seventh in the 4x400-meter relay.
2003 Men’s Outdoor Track and Field

Andrew Rock, Hans Schmidt, and Derek Toshner all won individual NCAA titles as Rock captured the 200-meter dash and the 400-meter dash. Schmidt won his second national title in pole vault and Toshner captured his second straight 400-meter hurdles. Nate Olson, Eric Schmidt, Dan Haumschild, and Kris Smith won the NCAA title in the 4x400-meter relay. Other individual All-American honors included Doug Connor (eighth in 800-meter run); Herc Hyland (second in long jump); Dan Sutton (second in 5,000-meter run); Toshner (second in 110-meter hurdles) and Mike Turgeon (second in discus). Hyland, Nate Olson, Ben Dorsey, and Matt Pagel took fourth in the 4x100-meter relay.
2004 Men’s Outdoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men's outdoor track and field won its fourth straight NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship in Decatur, Illinois, in 2004, scoring 101.0 points under head coach Mark Guthrie.
Andrew Rock, Hans Schmidt, Derek Toshner, and Mike Turgeon all won individual NCAA titles as Rock won his second straight 400-meter dash. Schmidt captured his second straight and third pole vault with Toshner winning his third consecutive title in the 400-meter hurdles. Turgeon won the discus. Matt Schultz, Ben Dorsey, Marcus Walgrave, and Matt Pagel took the NCAA title in the 4x100-meter relay while Nate Olson, Eric Svestka, Tony Marcinek, and Rock winning the 4x400-meter relay. Other individual All-American honors included Kevin Becker (second in hammer throw); Andy Grupa (fourth in 800-meter run); Olson (second in 400-meter dash); Pagel (third in 100-meter dash); Toshner (second in 110-meter hurdles) and Phil Whitesitt (third in hammer throw).
2006 Men’s Outdoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men's outdoor track and field won the 2006 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship in Lisle, Illinois, scoring 74.5 points under head coach Mark Guthrie. It was the 10
th career national outdoor title for Guthrie.
Matt Novak and Marcus Walgrave both won individual NCAA titles as Novak captured the pole vault and Walgrave the 110-meter hurdles. Nate Olson earned a pair of individual All-America honors, finishing second in the 400-meter dash and fourth in the 200-meter dash. Other individual All-American honors included Jeremy Deterville (fourth in 400-meter dash); Mike Herlihy (fifth in 3,000-meter steeplechase); Nolan Hietpas (eighth in 400-meter hurdles); Tony Marcinek (sixth in 400-meter dash); Brad Peterson (fifth in 400-meter hurdles); Alex Tapplin (third in pole vault); Michael Queensland (seventh in 200-meter dash); Bronson Stelzer (eighth in javelin) and Walgrave (second in 100-meter dash). Marcinek, Olson, Eric Svestka, and Deterville took second in the 4x400-meter relay.
2007 Men’s Outdoor Track and Field
UW-La Crosse men's outdoor track and field won its second straight NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, in 2007, scoring 99.0 points under head coach Brent Ericksen.
Kevin Becker won an individual NCAA title in the hammer throw. David Kolbe, Jonathan, Doble, Jeremy Deterville, and Tony Marcinek captured the 4x400-meter relay. Marcinek, Bobby Riley and Marcus Walgrave each earned a pair of individual awards with Marcinek finishing second in the 400-meter dash and fifth in the 200-meter dash. Riley was second in the shot put and third in the discus throw with Walgrave finishing fourth in the 100-meter and eighth in the 200-meter dash. Other individual All-American honors included Jesse Dengsavang (fifth in triple jump); John Heinz (second in pole vault); Jamar Jackson (fourth in 110-meter hurdles); Paul Moran (third in 10,000-meter run); Matt Novak (third in pole vault); Brad Peterson (fourth in 400-meter hurdles); Michael Queensland (third in 200-meter dash) and Bronson Stelzer (seventh in javelin). Alex Rooker, Walgrave, Jeremy Deterville, and Queensland took third in the 4x100-meter relay.

Isaac Vazquez won an individual NCAA title in the long jump. He was also second in the triple jump. Other individual All-American honors included Troy Brooks (sixth in long jump); John Cooper (eighth in hammer throw); Grant Havard (third in discus); Jeffery Hill (seventh in pole vault); Alex Koenen (sixth in 100-meter dash); Jacob Peterson (sixth in 1,500-meter run); Rob Rohe (fourth in pole vault); Sean Royer (second in 800-meter run) and David Stilin (third in 5,000-meter run). David Sikorski, Koenen, Max Jessesski, and Vazquez took third in the 4x100-meter relay. Paul Yerhot, Tyson Young, Nick Tehan, and Aric Hoeschen were fourth in the 4x400-meter relay.

Matthew Foster, Ernest Winters, Zach Rothering, and Joe Koenecke were second in the 4x100-meter relay while Zak Wallenfang, Sam Smith, Ben Jordan, and Denman finished seventh in the 4x400-meter relay.

Sam Blaskowski and Cael Schoemann won individual NCAA titles as Blaskowski captured the 100 and 200-meter dash and Schoemann the 800-meter run. It was Blaskowski’s third straight title in the 100-meter dash.
Spencer Reichart, Blaskowski, Collin Conzemius and Luke Schroeder won the 4x100-meter relay title. Other individual All-America honors included Mason Brown (eighth in 3,000-meter steeplechase); William Cady (seventh in triple jump); Adam Loenser (third in 3,000-meter steeplechase); Grant Matthai (seventh in 5,000-meter run); Luke Schroeder (fifth in 200-meter dash); Joey Sullivan (fifth in 3,000-meter steeplechase); Andrew Tumminaro (eighth in pole vault); Ben Youngsworth (fourth in shot put) and Isaac Wegner (sixth in 10,000-meter run). Conzemius, Addison Hill, Caden Pearce and Chase Doornink were second in the 4x400-meter relay to earn All-America accolades.

UW-La Crosse men’s outdoor track and field team won its second straight NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship in 2025 in Geneva, Ohio, scoring a meet record 84.0 points under head coach Josh Buchholtz.
Sam Blaskowski and Joey Sullivan won individual national championships as Blaskowski took the 100 and 200-meter dash and Sullivan the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Blaskowski won his fourth straight 100-meter dash and second consecutive crown in the 200-meter dash. Ryder Smith, Blaskowski, Evan Maurud and Lyndon Hemmrich-Hartmann won the 4x100-meter relay title. It was the Eagles’ third straight title in the event.
Grant Matthai earned a pair of individual All-America awards (ninth in 5,000-meter run, fourth in 10,000-meter run). Other All-America honors included Nathan Andringa (12th in high jump); William Cady (ninth in triple jump); Collin Conzemius (second in 400-meter dash); Chase Doornink (eighth in 400-meter dash); Adam Koenser (second in 3,000-meter steeplechase); Dirk Lueck (13th in 400-meter hurdles) and Aidan Matthai (fifth in 10,000-meter run).
Finn Patenaude (11th in 400-meter hurdles); Triton Schmidt (seventh in long jump); Cael Schoemann (third in 800-meter run); Andrew Tumminaro (13th in pole vault); Chuck Vater (10th in 3,000-meter steeplechase) and Jayden Zywicki (seventh in 3,000-meter steeplechase). UW-La Crosse men’s outdoor track and field team won its third straight NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship in 2026 at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex, scoring a meet record 106.0 points under head coach Josh Buchholtz.

Luke Schroeder and Joey Sullivan won individual All-America titles with Schroeder taking the 110-meter hurdles and Sullivan the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Schroeder was also fourth in the 100-meter dash and 14th in the 200-meter dash to earn All-America honors while Sullivan placed 15th in the 5,000-meter run.
Other individual All-America awards included Trent Backeberg (11th in decathlon); Connor Boyle (fourth in pole vault); Josh Brunner (12th in pole vault); Owen Clark (fourth in 3,000-meter steeplechase, 10th in 5,000-meter run); Collin Conzemius (second in 400-meter dash); Landon Gallun (eighth in 100-meter dash); Jake Gardner (sixth in pole vault); Sebastian Jefferson (13th in long jump); Gaven Lange (10th in pole vault); Aidan Matthai (fourth in 5,000-meter run, sixth in 10,000-meter run) and Zach Nyquist (15th in 400-meter hurdles).

Ryder Smith, Evan Maurud, Gallun and Schroeder were third in the 4x100-meter relay with Williams, Patenaude, Lucas Krause and Conzemius second in the 4x400-meter relay.
