La Crosse, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track and field team hosted the UWL Eagle Open Friday night at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. No team results were recorded.
UWL won two individual titles Friday as
Justin Donkin took the javelin throw (181-3) and
Andrew Jarrett the hammer throw (193-10). Donkin was also third (181-9) in the hammer throw.
The Eagles had three of the top-five finishers in the javelin throw with Donkin first (181-3),
Cameron Sorenson second (161-8) and
Alec Morrison fifth (152-9).
Other top finishes in the field events Friday included
Jacob Teunas placing second in the long jump (23-2 3/4) and Sorenson fifth (22-10). Finishing tied for third in the pole vault was
Tommy Knoche (15-1 3/4) while
Kaleb Schuster tied for sixth (14-8).
On the track, UWL's
Seth Holden finished second in the 100-meter dash (10.76) while
Will Seeser was second in the 400-meter hurdles (54.34). In the 200-meter dash,
Collin Meyer was second (21.84) while teammate
James Hoesley placed third (21.93).
In the 800-meter run, two UWL runners finished in the top-five as
Brian Hansford placed third (1:53.02) and
Henry Klein was fifth (1:54.41).
Joshua Schraeder finished fourth in the 1,500-meter run (3:50.20) while
Mitchell Maegaard placed sixth (3:55.76).
Dillon Murman was sixth in the 110-meter hurdles (15.12).
Chris Pahnke placed second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:30.17).
UWL returns to action Wednesday, May 15 at the North Central College (Ill.) Gregory Invitational.
