Houston, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's golf team opened its spring season with a dual versus city-rival Viterbo University (Wis.) Saturday at Valley High Golf Course. Viterbo (Wis.) won the dual with a team score of 351 whle UWL finished at 361. 

Maija Tanberg was UWL's top finisher, placing second overall with a round of 85. The Eagles' Hannah Ottevaere was fourth (90) while Sarah Faanes tied for fifth (91).  

UWL's Leah Kroening, Maggie Lang and Leah Sindberg each tied for eighth (95) while Haley Dunn was 12th (100). 

Bailey Schmidt from Viterbo (Wis.) took medalist honors (81). 

UWL returns to action Saturday-Sunday, April 13-14 at the Wartburg College (Iowa) Invitational at Prairie Linkds Golf Course.
