Waverly, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's golf team finished sixth at the Wartburg College (Iowa) Spring Invitational Sunday at Prairie Links Golf Course.
The Eagles finished with a two-day total of 734 (366-368). Carleton College (Minn.) captured the team title with a total of 629 (322-307) with Central College (Iowa) second at 687 (348-339) and Wartburg (Iowa) third at 690 (342-348). Viterbo University (Wis.) was fourth at 717 (352-365), Luther College (Iowa) fifth at 724 (368-356). UW-Eau Claire placed seventh at 749 (380-369). Saint Mary's University (Minn.) did not complete the first round on Saturday.
Individually, UWL's
Maija Tanberg finished tied for ninth with a score of 186 (81-85) on the par 72 course, measuring 5,822 yards. The Eagles'
Sarah Faanes (94-95-189) and
Leah Sindberg (94-95=189) tied for 26th while
Haley Dunn tied for 32nd (97-93=190) and
Maggie Lang was 40th (103-96=199). A total of 50 players started the tournament.
Ziyi Wang of Carleton (Minn.) took medalist honors with a two-day total of 153 (77-76).
