Northfield, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team competed at the Cows, Colleges and Contentment Classic Saturday at St. Olaf College (Minn.). No team scores were recorded.
On the women's side, UWL's Madalyn Peterson, Ellie Szczupakiewicz, Maria Vaudreuil, and Mikala Leppla came in second in the 200 medley relay (1:51.10). While Leppla, Aubrey Lonegran, Kaitlyn Michalek and Emily Boetteger finished second in the 200 freestyle relay (1:42.62). The Eagles also finished fourth (1:44.72) in the 200 freestyle relay with Victoria Campbell, Lilly Larsen, Jaime Kloehn and Kaylie Podvin.
Lilly Larsen, Leppla and Sarina Le each recorded second-place finishes. Le was second in the 200 butterfly (2:23.49) also finished fourth in the 100 butterfly (1:01.80). Leppla finished second in the 50 freestyle (25.08). Larsen placed second in the 100 backstroke (1:02.22), she also finished fourth in the 200 backstroke (2:16.83).
Vaudreuil finished first in the 200 breaststroke (2:33.33). While Sczcupakiewicz placed first in the 200 butterfly (2:17.42) and fifth in the 100 butterfly (1:02.20). Boettger (3rd) and Leppla (4th) finished back to back in the 100 freestyle with times of 55.84 and 56.48 respectively.
Lexi Burgos was third (5:42.47) in the 500 freestyle while Kaylie Svacina finished third in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.29). The Eagles' Svacina was fourth in the 400 I.M. (5:02.82) while Vaudreuil placed seventh (5:07.87).
Kalli Behling placed fifth ( 2:03.39) in the 200 freestyle while Szczupakiewicz was seventh (2:03.85).
In diving, UWL's Sydney Vian was sixth (355.8 points) in the one-meter competition and fifth in the three-meter (366.95)
UWL returns to action Saturday, November 2 at UW-Eau Claire at 1 p.m.
