Decorah, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving teams swept the Luther College (Iowa) Invitational Saturday afternoon. The women finished with 1,462.0 points while Luther (Iowa) took second with 485.0 and Nebraska Wesleyan University was third with 304.0. The UWL men finished ahead of both Luther (Iowa) and Nebraska University with 1,243.0 points. Nebraska Wesleyan was second with 529.0 and Luther (Iowa) third with 514.0.
On the women's side, UWL won the 200 medley relay (1:53.09) with Madalyn Peterson, Maria Vaudreuil, Sarina Le and Mikala Leppla while also winning the 200 freestyle relay (1:43.78) with Kaitlyn Michalek, Leppla, Emily Boettger and Jaime Kloehn.
Individually, Ellie Szczupakiewicz won the 200 butterfly (2:20.03) and 200 freestyle (2:03.91). Leppla won the 50 freestyle (25.47) while Lilly Larsen was first in the 100 backstroke (1:02.85). Vaudreuil won the 100 breastroke (1:10.54) and Boettger captured the 100 freestyle (55.74).
Ellen Bie placed second in the 1,000 freestyle (12:05.49) while Lexi Burgos was third (12:12.03). Peterson finished second (1:03.33) and Sophia Benson third (1:05.29) in the 100 backstroke. Kaylie Svacina (1:13.50) and Emma Coltman (1:14.02) were second and third in the 100 breaststroke while Kathleen Casella finished second (2:36.74) in the 200 butterfly.
Molly Banks was second (56.98) and Kloehn third (57.06) in the 100 freestyle.
UWL swept the women's one and three-meter diving. Elizabeth Konkel came in first for the one-meter (240.45 points) and second in three-meter (230.10). Sydney Vian was second in the one-meter, but finished first in the three (242.20). Inga Erickson placed third in both the one (164.55) and three-meter competition (172.65).
On the men's side, UWL won the 200 medley relay with Nicholas Litterer, Marley Kaiser, Hans Hover and Jack Rohlinger (1:36.60). Litterer, Hover, Gavin Wicklander and Rohlinger won the 200 freestyle relay as well (1:27.23). Andrew Groth finished first in the 500 freestyle (5:08.02) while Wicklander was second (5:12.82). Groth also won the 200 butterfly (2:06.69). Wicklander took first in the 1,000 freestyle (10:48.41).
Adam Baryenbruch won the 100 breaststroke (1:00.40) with Mitchell Johnson second (1:00.41) and Kaiser third (1:01.03). Johnson won the 200 breaststroke (2:17.72) with Baryenbruch second (2:18.59) and Kaiser third (2:21.57). Joe Herrick took first in the 200 freestyle (1:57:03).
Litterer won the 100 backstroke (55.12) while Kaiser took the 200 I.M. (2:05.83).
Cameron Pumilia took second in the men's one-meter diving (157.80).
