Menomonie, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's team opened its 2019 indoor season with a win at the UW-Stout Open Saturday. The Eagles finished with 184 team points while UW-Stout was second with 80 and Saint Mary's University (Minn.) third with 27.
UWL won 10 events Saturday.
On the track,
Seth Holden on the 60-meter dash (7.00),
Charlie Handrick the 200-meter dash (22.92), Connor Denman the 800-meter run (2:03.26), Sam Hinz the mile run (4:19.50),
Joshua Schraeder the 3,000-meter run (8:29.83) and
Michael Austin Bates the 60-meter hurdles (8.33).
Collin Meyer,
Max Goulet,
Joshua Desorcy and
Will Seeser won the 4x400-meter relay (3:24.73).
In the field events,
Samuel Sadowski captured the long jump (22-11 1/4),
Jacob Teunas the triple jump (47-4 1/4) and
Christian Morzinski the weight throw (55-11 3/4).
The Eagles recorded 25 top-three individual finishes Saturday.
