Cottage Grove, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse golf team placed 10th at the UW-Whitewater Fall Classic Sunday afternoon at The Oaks Golf Course. The Eagles finished with a two-day total of 759 (380-379).
UW-Whitewater captured the team title with a score of 635 (316-319) with UW-Oshkosh second at 645 (325-320) and Carthage College (Wis.) third at 675 (337-338). A total of 15 teams competed.
Chloe Volden led UWL individually finishing in a tie for 33rd-place with a two-day total of 182 (91-90).Â
The Eagles'
Sarah Faanes tied for 49th (98-90=188) while
Maggie Lang tied for 56th (99-95=194),
Leah Sindberg tied for 60th (92-104=196) and
Haley Dunn tied for 75th (105-105=210).
Ashley Hofmeister of UW-Whitewater took the individual title (74-75=149). A total of 88 golfers completed both rounds.
UWL returns to action Saturday, September 29 at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational at the Stevens Point Country Club.
