Winona, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's tennis team opened the 2017 spring season with a 6-3 defeat to Carleton College (Minn.) at the Winona Tennis Center Saturday night. Carleton is ranked 13th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Men's Central Regional Rankings. UWL falls to 0-1 in dual matches on the season while Carleton (Minn.) improves to 2-0.
"I thought we fought hard in all the singles matches, and played even against a really good team after a rough start in doubles," said Head Coach
Bill Hehli. "
Kyle Wogahn got a big win against a ranked player, and
Kyle McGrane and
Matt Riley both came back from a set down."
