La Crosse, Wis. - University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Intercollegiate Athletics has announced the hiring of four staff members.

 

Ainsley Allan is as an assistant soccer coach in 2026. The coaching position is in partnership with LX United, where Allan serves as their Director of Coaching. She arrives back at UWL after serving as an assistant U14 girls soccer coach for Mansfield Town FC in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England from February-June 2026. She earned her master's of research in sport and exercise psychology from Nottingham Trent University in December 2025. Allan played soccer at Nottingham Trent University in 2024-25 and Mansfield Town Football Club in 2025-26. 

Allan was a four-year soccer letter winner at UWL from 2019-23, being named to the 2022 and 2023 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) First Team. Selected the 2022 WIAC Offensive Player of the Year, Allan was a two-time (2022, 2023) United Soccer Coaches First Team All-Region choice. Allan ranks third in school history in career goals (33), fifth in shots (222) and seventh in points (79). She was a two-year team captain for the Eagles. 

Majoring in Spanish and minoring in psychology, Allan earned her bachelor's degree from UWL in 2023. She was voted to the 2022 United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America Second Team and to the 2022 United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-North Region First Team. 

Cole Contardi starts his first season as an assistant women's and men's tennis coach at UWL in 2026-27. He also serves as the Hetzel Fieldhouse Manager.  A four-year letter winner at UWL, Contardi earned his bachelor's degree in general studies with a minor in criminal justice in 2026. He earned 30 career victories in singles and 34 in doubles.  

He has served as a tennis instructor at the Wisconsin Athletic Club since 2017, directing summer camp, leading lessons and developing training programs. Contardi was a tennis instructor for the Oconomowoc (Wis.) Recreation Department from 2023-25, assessing player progress, organizing and leading lessons for players of various ages and skill levels and demonstrating fundamental techniques to enhance player development.

He was a four-year letter winner at Arrowhead High School, being a member of three state tournament teams.

 

Maya DeGeorge is UWL's assistant lacrosse coach and works as an events coordinator. DeGeorge comes to UWL after serving as an assistant women's lacrosse coach at Lake Forest College (Ill.) in 2025-26. She also served as an administrative assistant at Lake Forest (Ill.). 

She was a two-time Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) First Team selection at Beloit College (Wis.) while being selected as the league's 2025 Midfielder of the Year. A team captain for the Buccaneers, DeGeorge set single-season school records for goals (75), points (81) and ground balls (88) while finishing her career as the school's all-time leader in draw controls (177). She served as the team's social media manager. A member of Beloit's (Wis.) soccer team in 2023, DeGeorge earned her bachelor's degree in business management from Beloit (Wis.) in 2025.

She played two seasons of lacrosse at Colorado College. A native of Grand Junction, Colorado, DeGeorge earned 4A First Team All-State honors at Grand Junction High School while being named the Western Slope Player of the Year. She served as the team's captain.  

Allisa Gurtner starts her first year as a staff athletic trainer at UW-La Crosse in 2026-27, working with the soccer and baseball teams. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2016 and master's of science in athletic training from Franklin College (Ind.) in 2020.   

Prior to arriving at UWL, Gurtner served as an assistant athletic trainer at Cornell College (Iowa) from 2021-26. She was responsible for day-to-day coverage of men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball and men's and women's lacrosse for the Rams with additional coverage of men's and women's wrestling, baseball, tennis and track & field. Gurtner supervised undergraduate sports medicine assistants at Cornell (Iowa) and acted as an advisor of the student organization. She contributed to the athletic department's Mental Health Task Force. 

Gurtner is a certified athletic trainer and member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association.
