Allisa Gurtner starts her first year as a staff athletic trainer at UW-La Crosse in 2026-27. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2016 and master's of science in athletic training from Franklin College (Ind.) in 2020.Â
Prior to arriving at UWL, Gurtner served as an assistant athletic trainer at Cornell College (Iowa) from 2021-26. She was responsible for day-to-day coverage of men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball and men's and women's lacrosse for the Rams with additional coverage of men's and women's wrestling, baseball, tennis and track & field. Gurtner supervised undergraduate sports medicine assistants at Cornell (Iowa) and acted as an advisor of the student organization. She contributed to the athletic department's Mental Health Task Force.Â
Gurtner is a certified athletic trainer and member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association.Â
