Madison, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team earned a pair of Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) awards following the completion of the 2026 outdoor championships, the league office announced Monday.
Senior
Maya Evans of
Cedarburg (H.S.) has been voted the WIAC Field Performer of the Meet while UWL earned the 2026 WIAC Coaching Staff of the Year Award.
It is the second time Evans has earned the WIAC Field Performer of the Meet after securing it in 2024.
Maya Evans swept the long
and triple jump.
Evans swept the long (19-7) and triple (39-1 1/4) titles at this year's league championships in helping lead UWL to its 14th straight title. She became the first student-athlete in WIAC history to sweep the long and triple jump since Amber Williams of UW-Platteville in 2017.
She won her second career long jump title after also capturing the event in 2024. Evans won her second consecutive triple jump title.
Evans currently ranks third in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III in the long jump with her mark of 19-7 at the WIAC Championships. She is eighth in the triple jump (39-6 1/2) from her mark at the Azusa Pacific University (Calif.) Bryan Clay Invitational.
She is the eighth student-athlete in school history to earn the WIAC Field Performer of the Meet, joining

UWL earned the WIAC Outdoor Coaching Staff of the Year Award for the seventh straight season under head coach
Nickolas Davis in 2026. The award was not presented in 2020 due to the COVID-19 public health threat. Davis was also named the 2018 WIAC Outdoor Coach of the Year.
The Eagles won their 14th straight WIAC Outdoor title this season with 362.0 team points. It was UWL's 40th league championship in school history. The 362.0 points are second in conference history after the Eagles scored 363.5 in 2023.
UWL won eight individual and two relay titles at this year's conference championships while recording points in all 21 events. The Eagles earned at least 10 points in 17 events.
Nicholas Davis led UWL to its
14th straight WIAC title.
Davis, in his ninth season as UWL's head coach, has led the Eagles to seven (2018, 2020, 2022-26) indoor and eight (2018-19, 2021-26) WIAC Outdoor Championships. Davis led UWL to a sweep of the 2023 NCAA III Indoor and Outdoor Championships.

The WIAC Coach of the Year award was re-named the Coaching Staff of the Year starting in 2019-20.
UWL returns to action Monday, May 11 at the St. Norbert College (Wis.) Last Chance Meet. The Eagles host the NCAA Division III Championships on Thursday-Saturday, May 21-23 at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.
