NCAA III All-America honors.

The meet is named for former assistant women's track & field coach Ashton May, who passed away September 16, 2012 after a traffic accident north of Adams, Minnesota.  She completed her second season as an assistant coach with the Eagles in 2011-12.  May earned her degree from UWL in 2010 in elementary education and was a math and social studies teacher at Holmen (Wis.) Middle School.  May will be inducted into the UWL Wall of Fame this fall.

A four-year track & field letter winner for the Eagles, she earned 10 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III All-America awards, including second-place finishes in the long jump and triple jump at the 2010 outdoor championships.  May was also second in the long jump at the 2010 indoor national championships. She was inducted into the UWL Wall of Fame in 2022.

UWL won three individual and one relay title on Friday. On the track, the Eagles' Brooklyn Luebke won the 1,500-meter run (4:22.22) while Taylor Molling, Alli Thomas, Grace Kern and Maddie Hecker took the 4x400-meter relay (3:55.74).

In the field events, Ella Puls captured the hammer throw (174-8) and Alyssa Pierce the shot put (40-0).

Along with Luebke's first-place finish in the 1,500-meter run, Annika Elliott was fifth (4:45.11) and Natasha Tiry sixth (4:46.49).
