HOW IT HAPPENED

Game One
  •  Neither team was able to get on the scoreboard until UW-Whitewater would score a run in the top of the fifth inning. With two outs and two guys on, Brady Gilroy singled to left field to score Jackson Spring from second base.
  • The Warhawks would then score four runs in the top of the sixth inning to extend their lead to 5-0.
  • The score would remain 5-0 until the bottom of the ninth as the Eagles would get put together their best offensive threat of the day but would only score one run. Charley Rowan singled up the middle and advanced to second on a wild pitch to start the inning. Brady Lash then walked while Andrew Palm reached on a fielding error to load the bases with no outs. AJ Levy would then pinch hit and bring home Rowan with a sacrifice fly to right field to make it 5-1. That would be all for the Eagles though as the next two batters were retired on a line out to center and a fly out to third.

    Game Two
  • After two and a half innings in game two, the game was delayed by inclement weather and when it resumed it would remain scoreless until the fifth inning when the Warhawks took a 1-0 lead on an RBI double by Holland.
  • UW-Whitewater would extend their lead to 5-0 in the top of the sixth inning as they scored four runs on three hits. It was Holland that provided the big hit as he recorded a bases loaded double to score three runs.
  • UWL would get one of those runs back in their half of the sixth inning as Chris Calico led off with a walk and advanced to third on back-to-back singles by Rowan and Brady Lash. Warhawk pitcher Jackson Koenig would then induce a double play ground out that saw Calico out at home. With two outs, Andrew Palm singled up the middle which scored Rowan but Lash was thrown out at the plate trying to score from second base.
  • UW-Whitewater added to their lead in the seventh inning as McVay and Spring both walked to start the inning. Then with one out, UWL pitcher Logan Zickert would get a ground ball to the second base but after recording the force out at second base, a throwing error would allow McVay to score and make it 6-1.
