Men’s Track and Field Competes At Drake Relays; Schroeder Breaks NCAA III Record

Gaven Lange finished second overall in the pole vault with a mark of 16-9 1/4.

Des Moines, Iowa - Members of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track and field team competed at the Drake Relays on Friday hosted by Drake University (Iowa).

THE RESULTS
FIELD EVENTS

Pole Vault: The Eagles had four pole vaulters finish in the top eight on Friday led by a second place finish by Gaven Lange. Lange's mark of 16-9 1/4 ranks third so far this season on the NCAA III Honor Roll. In fourth place was Andrew Tumminaro (16-3 1/4) while Ethan Brissette was sixth (16-3 1/4) and Josh Brunner eighth (15-9 1/4).

TRACK EVENTS

110-meter hurdles: With a time of 13.58, Luke Schroeder breaks the NCAA III record to finish with the fastest qualifying time on Friday. Schroeder breaks Jamir Brown's, of Rowan University (N.J.), record of 13.60 set on May 3, 2025.
400-meter hurdles: Finn Patenaude was the top Eagle finisher in the 400-meter hurdles as he finished 11th overall (53.24) while Zachary Nyquist finished 17th (54.56).
800-meter run: Cael Schoemann finished fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:49.54.
4x100 Relay: The relay team of Ryder Smith, Evan Maurud, Landon Gallun and Schroeder ran the second fastest time in the prelims to qualify for the finals on Saturday. The time of 40.39 is the third fastest time ran so far this season in NCAA III.
