2026 Soccer Schedule
La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse has announced its 2026 soccer schedule. The Eagles will host 10 contests at Veterans Memorial Field Complex with the home opener scheduled for September 9 versus Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn). UWL has a total of 19 games scheduled in its 2026 season.
"We have 10 opportunities to play at home and in-front of the best fans in the WIAC," said head coach
Jason Murphy. "We look forward to playing a brand of soccer that everyone can enjoy."
The Eagles finished 19-3-1 overall and 6-0-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) last season under Murphy. UWL won the WIAC regular season and tournament titles while advancing to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Second Round. UWL won its eighth (1996, 2015, 2017-18, 2022-25) regular season league championship and seventh (1996, 2017-18, 2022-25) conference tournament title.
The team made its eighth appearance (2015, 2017-18, 2021-25) in school history in the national championships, all coming under Murphy. The Eagles have advanced to the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals three times (2017, 2021, 2023). UWL is 12-6-4 all-time in the NCAA III Championships.
UWL's 19 victories a year ago are fourth in single-season school history. The Eagles set single-season school records for goals (103), assists (91) and shots (596) while recording their second-most shutouts (15).
UW-La Crosse won its seventh WIAC Tournament title last season.
"We are spending 10 days in Costa Rica during preseason and are looking forward to spending time together on a foreign trip," said Murphy. "Last time we went there we had three great matches, so we are excited about playing those matches this preseason."
The Eagles open the season at Carroll University, Wis. (September 1) before traveling to Maine for a pair of contests, facing the University of Southern Maine (September 4) and Husson University, Maine (September 6).
After three home contests hosting Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) (September 9), Millikin University, Ill. (September 12) and Concordia University Wisconsin (September 14), UWL travels to Kentucky against Mount St. Joseph University, Ky. (September 18) and Spalding University, Ky. (September 20).
"We are excited about the slate of matches for 2026," said Murphy. "We have two big trips to Maine and Kentucky and always look forward to playing teams from different regions who have had recent successes."
A stretch of five consecutive home games starts versus North Park University, Ill. (Sept. 28) followed by non-conference matches against MSOE, Wis. (September 28) and Edgewood University, Wis. (September 30). UWL opens WIAC play hosting UW-Stevens Point (October 3) before UW-River Falls (October 7) comes to La Crosse. "Our three-match and five-match home stands in September will be great times for our fans to come see us play," added Murphy.
"We have four of our last six matches on the road so it is important we get to October with some belief and momentum," said Murphy. UWL plays its first conference road game at UW-Eau Claire (October 10) and finishes its non-conference slate at Grinnell College, Iowa (October 14).
The Eagles finish their regular season with four WIAC matches, hosting UW-Stout (October 17), playing at UW-Platteville (October 21), hosting UW-Oshkosh (October 24) and finishing at UW-Whitewater (October 31).
The WIAC Championship game is set for November 3 with the semifinals on November 5 and tournament title game on November 7.
