Kalamazoo, Mich. - Four members of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team are set to compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Central Diving Championships Friday-Saturday, February 27-28 at Kalamazoo College (Mich.).
Seniors
Hannah Martini of
Muskego (H.S.) and
Madison DeBernardo of
Holly Springs, N.C. (Crossroads Flex) along with junior
Abbey Thornton of
Valley City, N.D. (H.S.) and freshman
Emma Lieb of
Milwaukee (Divine Savior Holy Angels) will represent UWL.
A total of 32 divers are entered in the women's one-meter and 31 in the three-meter.
The top-eight finishers on the women's side will advance to the NCAA Division III Championships. The NCAA Division III Championships are scheduled for Wednesday, March 18 through Saturday, March 21 at the Indiana University Indianapolis IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The women's one-meter competition is scheduled for 4 p.m. (Central) on Friday, February 27 while the three-meter is set for 2 p.m. (Central) on Saturday, February 28. Action will take place in the Kalamazoo College (Mich.) Natatorium.
Martini and DeBernardo will both be appearing in their second NCAA Division III Diving Regional. At the 2025 regional in Granville, Ohio, Martini placed 11th (393.00 points) in the one-meter competition and 15th (381.35) in the three-meter while DeBernardo finished 30th in the one-meter (321.85) and 23rd (344.00) in the three-meter.
Lieb and Thornton are making their first trip to the diving regional.
Martini was named the 2026 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Diver of the Meet at this year's league championships after sweeping the one (430.60) and three-meter (444.00) titles.
Thorton placed second in the one (412.65) and three-meter (391.05) at the WIAC Championships Lieb finished seventh in the one-meter (383.85) and third in the three-meter (388.70). DeBernardo placed third in the one-meter (397.85) and seventh in the three-meter (365.70).
