La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling team is set to compete at the 2026 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Region VII Regional Friday-Saturday, February 27-28 at UW-Eau Claire's McPhee Physical Education Center. Action starts at 10 a.m.
Ten wrestlers will represent UWL in the regional championships. Competing for the Eagles will be

Wyatt Magolski (133),
Marcus McIntyre (141),
Aidan Baum (149),
Joe Penchi (157),
Tanner Gerber (165),
Noah Leisgang (174),
Tate Flege (184),
Tyler Dormanen (197) and
Markos Mihalopoulos (285).
Nine of UWL's 10 wrestlers competing at this year's regional placed at the 2026 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships on February 14 as the Eagles placed second.
Gerber (27-2 on the season), Leisgang (13-0) and Dormanen (18-3) each won titles at the league championships while Magolski (23-13), Penchi (20-12) and Flege (20-1) placed second. McIntyre (23-7) placed third with Mihalopoulos (16-7) was fourth and Baum (24-14) sixth. Wolbert did not compete at the WIAC Championships.
Gerber and Leisgang are both currently ranked second in National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III while Flege is fourth, Dormanen fifth, Wolbert sixth and Mihalopoulos 10th.
A total of 16 teams will be competing in the regional, including five of six from the WIAC. Joining UWL from the league are UW-Eau Claire, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Platteville and UW-Stevens Point. Other teams in the regional include Augsburg University (Minn.), Augustana College (Ill.), Aurora University (Ill.), Carthage College (Wis.), Concordia-Moorhead College (Minn.), Concordia University Wisconsin, Lakeland University (Wis.), Linfield University (Ore.), MSOE (Wis.), Pacific University (Ore.), and Saint John's University (Minn.).
Thirty wrestlers, the top-three finishers in each of the 10 weight classes at the Region VII Regional, advance to the 2026 NCAA Division III Championships scheduled for March 13-14 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
A total of seven regionals will be held this weekend, including the NCAA Region I Regional in New London, Conn.; the Region II Regional in Ithaca, N.Y.; the Region III Regional in Ewing Township, N.J.; the Region IV Regional in Ada, Ohio; the Region V Regional in University Heights, Ohio; the Region VI Regional in Dubuque, Iowa, and the Region VII Regional in Eau Claire, Wis.
The Region I tournament will take place February 28-March 1 while the rest of the regionals will take place on February 27-28.
UWL enters the Region VII Regional ranked fourth in the NWCA Division III Tournament Team Poll released February 20 while Augsburg (Minn.) is fifth, UW-Eau Claire 23rd.
A total of 26 wrestlers competing in this week's Region VII Regional are ranked in the NWCA.
