La Crosse, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team hosted the UWL Caged Eagle Invitational on Friday in Hetzel Fieldhouse. No team scores were recorded.
UWL won five events on Friday. On the track,
Natasha Tiry captured the 800-meter run (2:17.50) with
Lucile Duchac capturing the mile run (5:07.58).
The Eagles won three field events.
Madison McCullum took the high jump (5-3),
Samantha Barrett the triple jump (37-1 ¼) and
Madilyn Vander Sanden the shot put (43-0 ½).
The distance medley relay of
Becca Immer,
Zoe Lain,
Alli Thomas and
Julia Zalewski placed third (11:51.05).

UWL had five of the top six finishers in the mile run. Along with Duchac's victory,
Joelle Duty was second (5:11.93), Lauren Ellefson third (5:12.88),
Kylie Stockton fifth (5:15.49) and
Bryn Sato sixth (5:16.30).
Other top six finishers included
Olivia Navin placing second (8.94),
Megan Zemke third (8.98) and
Brie Eckerman sixth (9.29) in the 60-meter hurdles while
Andie Otto finished fourth (7.83) and
Marley McIntyre fifth (7.83) in the 60-meter dash.
Otto was also second (25.34) in the 200-meter dash while
Carly Borst was second (59.58) in the 400-meter dash and
Nora Jillson third (2:19.55) in the 800-meter run.
The Eagles had three of the top six finishers in the 3,000-meter run as
Ella Woodworth placed second (10:42.05),
Erin Geisler third (10:46.18) and
Ashley Wilson sixth (10:53.56).
In Friday's field events, UWL had four of the top six finishers in the pole vault as
Madison Habberstad placed second (13-2 ½),
Nora Waddell fourth (12-6 ¾),
Jackie Bergeron fifth (12-6 ¾) and
Emily Shafron sixth (12-0 ¾).
Jaden Hackel placed second (37-0 ¼) in the triple jump while
Josie Blum was third (17-5 ½) and
Jenna Miller fourth (17-4 ¼) in the long jump.

Jadyn Roden finished third (56-10 ¾) and
Alyssa Pierce sixth (50-8 ¼).
Lydia Delene was third (42-1 ½), Roden fourth (41-9 ¾) and
Chloe Kessenich sixth (41-7) in the shot put.
UWL returns to action Friday, February 27 at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships (presented by Culver's) at UW-Platteville.
