UWL Wins Five Events at UW-Whitewater ELITE Invite; Evans Sweeps Long and Triple Jump; Habberstad Sets School Record in Pole Vault

Whitewater, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team completed action Saturday at the UW-Whitewater Midwest ELITE Invitational. No team scores were recorded.

UWL earned three titles in the field events, including a pair from Maya Evans who swept the long (19-2 ½) and triple jump titles (37-10 ½).

Madison Habberstad won the pole vault (13-5 ¼), breaking her own school record for the third straight week. She broke her record of 13-2 ½ at the UWL Mark Guthrie Invitational on February 7.

On the track, Regan Scott captured the 60-meter hurdles (8.93).

Other top-fix finishes in Saturday's field events included Mackenzie Kronberg second (37-4 ½), Ashley Davies fifth (36-5) and Josie Blum sixth (35-5 ¼) in the triple jump. UWL had the top six finishers in the long jump. Along with Evans' first-place, Amber Grosse was second (18-3 ¼), Jenna Miller third (17-11 ¾) and Blum fourth (17-10 ¾) with Ava Foley and Madeline Thoreson tied for fifth (17-9 ¾).
The Eagles' Ainsley Hansen tied for second (5-2 ½) in the high jump.

Nora Waddell placed second (12-9 ½), Araceli De Leo Lopez fifth (12-5 ½) and Emily Shafron sixth (11-11 ¾) in the pole vault.

Addy Moseler placed fifth in the shot put (41-3 ¾) and sixth (35-5 ¼) in the weight throw.

UWL had five of the top six finishers in the 60-meter dash as Julie Yang finished second (7.65), McKenna Sedlacek third (7.71), Makenna Zak fourth (7.77) and Taylor Molling fifth (7.77). Olivia Navin finished second (9.05), Megan Zemke fourth (9.08) and Grosse sixth (9.10) in the 60-meter hurdles.

Marley McIntyre finished third (25.44) in the 200-meter dash with Alli Thomas fourth (58.78) and Jocelyn Thomson fifth (59.20) in the 400-meter dash. Kalli Vannieuwenhoven placed third (2:15.48) in the 800-meter run.

The Eagles' 4x400-meter relay of Anna Plautz, Andie Otto, Grace Kern and Macy Reybrock finished second (3:49.93).

In Friday's action, the Eagles' Julia Zalewski won the 5,000-meter run (17:10.14) with Brooklyn Luebke third (17:15.48).

UWL returns to action Friday, February 20 hosting the UWL Caged Eagle Open in Hetzel Fieldhouse at 3 p.m.
