Chicago, Ill. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team competed at a pair of meets on Friday.
At the DePaul University (Ill.) Alumni Classic at Gately Park, UWL's
Anna Plautz placed third (55.47) in the 400-meter dash while
Alli Thomas was eighth (2:23.28) in the 800-meter run. Plautz broke her own school record (56.63) in the 400-meter dash set last season.
Annika Elliott finished ninth (5:05.07) and
Madison Twarling 13th (5:07.32) in the mile run.
Anika Reiland was 11th (24.95) and
Makenna Zak 16th (25.09) in the 200-meter dash while the Eagles'
Macy Reybrock placed 14th (57.25),
Zoe Lain 17th (58.01) and
Sarah Grubbs 24th (58.59) in the 400-meter dash.
Zak was also eighth (7.77) and Reiland 12th (7.80) in the 60-meter dash preliminaries.

UWL's 4x400-meter relay of Plautz,
Andie Otto, Reybrock and Lain placed third (3:47.58).
No team scores were recorded for NCAA Division III teams.
UWL's 5,000-meter runners competed at the UW-Whitewater Midwest ELITE Invitational Friday with
Julia Zalewski winning the title (17:10.14). The Eagles had eight finishers in the top 24.
Brooklyn Luebke placed third (17:15.48),
Molly Novotny eighth (17:34.37) and
Becca Immer ninth (17:36.72).
Milana Pisto was 13th (17:53.90),
Lucile Duchac 15th (17:56.03),
Taylor Bussiere 23rd (18:05.90) and
Elizabeth Schwartz 24th (18:06.52).
UWL returns to action on the second day of the UW-Whitewater Midwest ELITE Invitational continues Saturday, February 14 at 10 a.m.
