Rochester, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling team competed at the Rochester Community & Technical College (RCTC) Yellowjacket Open Saturday.
No team scores were recorded. UWL had entries in the Open Division and Freshmen/Sophomore Division.
INDIVIDUAL WINNERS - OPEN DIVISION

Sedeeq AlObaidi won the 184-pound title with a 3-0 record. He defeated Kendal Pugh of William Penn University (Iowa) by technical fall (17-1) in his first match and Jonah Anderson of Southwest Minnesota State by major decision (16-7) in the semifinals. AlObaidi defeated Matthew Marcum of Upper Iowa University by decision (6-5) for the championship.

Carter Lueck took the championship with a 3-0 record at 197, opening with a technical fall (17-2) over Nathan Klatt of St. Cloud State University (Minn.). He won by decision (6-2) over Tyler Hannah of Upper Iowa in the semifinals and captured the title by default over Nathan Fury of St. Cloud State.

Roman McKinney finished third with a 1-2 record at 125.

Mycah Beckett placed third with a 3-1 record with one win by fall at 141 and
Austin Herbst placed with an 0-3 record.

Kellen Kelly finished second at 157-pounds with a 2-1 record. He won by technical fall (19-3) over Jacob Taplin of Southwest Minnesota State in his first match and by decision (7-0) over Kale Hansen of Upper Iowa in the semifinals. Kelly lost by decision (11-6) to unattached Carter Martinson in the final.

Kolt Knaack and
Brady Dorshorst each went 0-2 at 157.

Jon Lamprich placed fifth with a 2-2 record at 165.
Ashton Meister finished 1-2.

Kash Macumber was third with a 2-1 record at 184.

Caden Weber was second,
Henry VanderHeiden third and
Asher Sheldon sixth at 285. Weber went 2-1, winning by major decision (19-10) over unattached Chase Cordia in his first dual. He won by major decision (10-1) over Ethan Thompson of Southwest Minnesota State in the semifinals and lost by fall (6:30) to unattached Cole Matulenko. VanderHeiden went 2-1 with one win by fall while Sheldon finished 0-3.
FRESHMEN/SOPHOMORE DIVISION

Teghan Moore, at 133-pounds, finished fourth with a 2-3 record with one win by fall.

Tristan North placed fifth with a 5-1 record at 149, earning four victories by fall.
Roger Flege went 2-2 with both wins by fall while
Ben Cyrkiel finished 1-2.

Gabe Metzler went 1-2 and
Ben Miller 0-2 at 157.

Jayden Delao placed second at 197 with a 4-1 record. He defeated Joe Kruse of Minnesota State University Mankato by decision (3-2) in his opening match. Delao then won by technical fall (18-2) over Jeremiah Luke of Upper Iowa in the quarterfinals followed by a technical fall (16-1) against Jeremiah Chuol of Iowa Lakes Community College in the semifinals. He lost by major decision (15-3) to Dominic Heim of Minnesota State Mankato in the title match.
