Men's Track and Field Opens 2026 Season With Top Finish at Pat Healy Classic; Conzemius, Powers and Youngworth Set Records

La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Men's Track and Field team opened the 2026 season by hosting the Pat Healy Classic Saturday afternoon.

THE BASICS

Results: UWL finished first with 290 points while UW-Stout was second (100 points) and Saint Mary's University (Minn.) third (14 points).
Location: Hetzel Fieldhouse, La Crosse, Wis.
Up next: UWL will have members compete at both the UW-Stout Invite (January 30-31) and Minnesota State University-Mankato Mark Schuck Open (January 30-31).

FIELD EVENTS

High Jump - Mitchell Eldredge won the the high jump with a top jump of 6-6 3/4.
Pole Vault - UWL took home the top five spots in the pole vault with Connor Boyle winning the event with a mark of 16-8 3/4. Boyle was followed by Andrew Tumminaro (16-5 1/4), Gaven Lange (16-1 1/4), Josh Brunner (16-1 1/4) and Caleb Moore (14-9 1/2).
Long Jump - Carter Pearson led four Eagles in the long jump with a top mark of 22-10. Allen Stupinean finished second (22-5 1/4) followed by Triton Schmidt (22-0 3/4) and Trent Backeberg (21-3 14).
Triple Jump - In his first collegiate meet, Mikaiah Hopf won the triple jump with a mark of 46-4. Stupinean was second with a jump of 44-3 1/4.
Shot Put - Ben Youngworth won the shot put with a meet record of 55-3 3/4 while Jake Gardner finished second (54-11 1/4) and Spencer Prats fourth (51-7).
Weight Throw - UWL had the top three finishers in the weight throw with Logan Powers finishing first with a meet record of 63-0 1/4. In second place was Anthony Staryszak (58-7 1/4) followed by Prats (57-10 1/2).

TRACK EVENTS

60-meter dash - In his first meet as an Eagle, Landon Gallun won the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.79. Evan Maurud finished second (6.86) while Martin Lindholm was fourth (6.91) and Owen Preimesberger fifth (6.93).
Mile - Jayden Zywicki led four Eagles in the top five as he finished second with a time of 4:07.81. In third place was Aidan Matthai (4:09.97) while Cael Schoemann was fourth (4:11.87) and Joey Sullivan fifth (4:12.47).
400-meter - Collin Conzemius won the 400-meter run with a facility and meet record time of 47.42. Andrew Hackbarth finished second (49.41), Lucas Krause third (49.56), Finn Patenaude fourth (49.77) and Isaac Henkel fifth (50.33).
200-meter - UWL had top three finishers in the 200-meter dash with Luke Schroeder winning the event with a time of 21.61. Gallun was second (22.14) and Lindholm third (22.19).
3000-meter - Charles Vater led four eagles with a top time of 8:24.41 in the 3000-meter run. In second was Nico Castellanos (8:36.68) followed by Aiden Jakubic (8:41.58) and Chase Altergott (8:42.81).
4x400 relay -The relay team of Tyler Heiman, Henkel, Boyle and Brunner won the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:24.84.
