La Crosse, Wis. - With two weeks until the National Collegiate Athletic Conference Dividsion III Outdoor Championships, the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team has two home track meets left for final opportunities for Eagles to qualify. First up was the Uncaged Eagle Open hosted by UWL on Friday night.

• Up next: Prior to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Outdoor Championship May 22-24, UWL will host the Final Qualifier on Thursday May 15. 

 THE RESULTS

    FIELD EVENTS

• Triple Jump: In the triple jump, Gabe Olsen finished third (48-1 3/4) while Christian Crumbaker (48-0) was fourth overall.
• Javelin - With a throw of 188-2, Nate Lawrence finished second overall in the javelin. 
• Hammer Throw - Matthew Jackson finished fourth in the hammer throw with his best throw measuring 188-2.
• Long Jump - In the long jump, Carter Pearson finished fifth with a jump of 23-4 3/4 while Triton Schmidt was sixth (23-4).
• Pole Vault - In the pole vault, three of the top five finishers were from UWL led y by Caleb Moore (16-2 1/2) in second, Andrew Tumminaro in fourth (16-2 1/2) and Alexander Wagner in fifth (15-8 1/2). 

    TRACK EVENTS 

• 5000-meter Run  - With a time of 14:57.55, Ben Stangel finished second in the 5000-meter run.
• 400-meter Run - Chase Doornink won the 400-meter run with a time of 46.39.
• 400-meter Hurdles - UWL had four of the top five hurdlers in the 400-meter hurdles led by a second place finish by Dirk Lueck with a time of 52.66.Teammates Finn Patenaude (53.48), Zachary Nyquist (53.48) and Ayden Hart (53.87) followed right behind. 
• 800-meter Run - In the 800-meter run, Owen Klaus finished third with a time of 1:54.31. 
• 200-meter Run - Evan Maurud (21.61) and Lyndon Hemmrich-Hartman (21.71) finished sixth and seventh, respectively in the 200-meter run. 
• 1500-meter Run - Nash Merklein won the 1500-meter run with a time of 3:47.31.
• 3000-meter Steeplechase - Three of the top four finishers were Eagles including Charles Vater (8:54.13) in second place while Mason Brown (8:59.06) was third and Elias Ritzke (9:00.64) was fourth. Also finishing in the top six was Owen Layton with a time of 9:14.25.
• 4x400-meter Relay - The relay team of Andrew Hackbarth, Tyler Backes, Jacob Hohmann and Devin Williams won the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:04.10.
