Eagles In Third Place After Day Two; Sullivan Wins National Title; Loenser and Zywicki Earn All-America

Geneva, Ohio - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track and field team is in third place after the second day of action at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Outdoor Championships Friday at SPIRE Institute.

2025 NCAA III OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP BASICS
  • Team Results - UWL is in third place with 31 points. Leading the Championships is UW-Oshkosh with 35 points while UW-Eau Claire is in second with 34 points. Rounding out the top five teams was Rowan (NJ) in fourth place (15.5 points) while SUNY Geneseo (NY) and MIT (Mass.) are tied for fifth with 12 points. 
  • Location - SPIRE Institute, Geneva, Ohio.(hosted by The North Coast Athletic Conference and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission)
  • UWL at NCAA III Championships - UWL has won an NCAA Division III record 16 Outdoor Championships. The Eagles are attempting to defend their 2024 National Title. 
  • Up Next: Day three of the Championships gets underway at 11:00 a.m (EST) Saturday morning.

Field Events
  • Shot Put (Final) - Ben Youngworth finishes 20th overall in the shot put with a throw of 51-9 1/4. 
  • High Jump (Final) - Nathan Andringa finished 12th in the high jump with a jump of 6-6 3/4.  

    Track Events
  • 400-Meter Run (Prelims) - Collin Conzemius and Chase Doornink both qualified for Saturday's Finals. Conzemius qualified second with a time of 47.21 while Doonink qualified with a time of 47.85.
  • 100-Meter Dash (Prelims) - Sam Blaskowski will look to win his fourth national title in 100-meter dash as he  ran the fastest time in prelims with a time of 10.28. 
  • 800-Meter Run (Prelims) - Cael Schoemann will attempt to win his second consecutive title in the 800-meter run with a preliminary time of 1:52.25.
  • 3000 Meter Steeplechase (Finals)Joey Sullivan won his first national championship in the 3000-meter steeplechase as he finished just ahead of teammate Adam Loenser with a time of 8:50.51. Loenser earned his second NCAA All-America honor in the event finishing second (8:52.54) overall while  Jayden Zywicki picked up an NCAA All-America honor by finishing seventh (8:58.10).Charles Vater also competed in the race as he finished 10th overall with a time of 9:09.28.
