Stevens Point, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse lacrosse team earned a 15-8 victory at UW-Stevens Point Wednesday night at Loos Family Field. The Eagles improve to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while the Pointers drop to 2-10 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
UWL never trailed Wednesday, scoring seven of the first eight goals. The Eagles took a 1-0 lead on 
Megan Maloney's unassisted goal with 12:55 left in the first quarter. 
Evie Brilz gave UWL a 2-0 lead with 11:14 remaining on 
Gretchen McCann's assist. After the Pointers cut it to 2-1 with Paige Allen scoring with 5:14 left on a Marissa Van Dyke assist, the Eagles scored five straight goals.

Emily Wrobbel, Maloney, 
Ava Schiltz and Brilz scored for UWL with McCann recording a pair of assist. Feeney and Wrobbel also had assist.
UW-Stevens Point cut it to 7-2 with 4:21 remaining in the second quarter before Maloney extended UWL's lead to 8-2 with 3:31 left in the half. The Eagles led, 8-2, at the half.
Van Dyke's goal with 14:08 remaining opened the scoring in the second half for the Pointers to cut the lead to 8-3. 
Angie Olla goal off Brilz' assist with 12:19 left and Feeney's man-up goal from Maloney made it 10-3.
The Eagles led, 14-5, after three quarters. Feeney added another goal in the quarter while Schiltz tallied two goals and Brilz one. Mahoney added another assist in the quarter with Schiltz and Olla also registering assists.
UW-Stevens Point cut the lead to 14-8 with 6:57 left in the game, but Maloney's fourth goal of the game with :27 remaining provided the final margin.
UWL had 42 shots in the game with Maloney leading the team with four goals. Schiltz, Feeney and Brilz each finished with three goals while Maloney added two assist and McCann a team-high three assists.

Stefania Rossi led UWL with three ground balls. Rossi earned the win in goal, recording four saves.
UW-Stevens Point totaled 18 shots with Aubrey Keeping leading the Pointers with three goals. Van Dyke finished with two. Jocee Tanner had six ground balls. Emily Griege recorded 18 saves.
UWL returns to action Friday, April 11 hosting 17th-ranked Colorado College at 5 p.m.  The Tigers are ranked 17th in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III Poll.
