La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse lacrosse team defeated Hamline University (Minn.), 22-4, Saturday afternoon in the Eagles' regular-season home finale at Veterans Memorial Field. UWL improves to 10-5 overall and 6-3 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while the Pipers fall to 6-9 overall and 4-5 in the conference.
UWL celebrated Senior Day, honoring
Megan Feeney and
Kaley Hendrick.
The Eagles got off to a fast start outscoring the Pipers, 12-0 in the first quarter.
Emily Wrobbel got the action started with a goal with 12:32 left in the first quarter.
Megan Maloney followed with a goal at 11:21 remaining in the quarter to make it 2-0 Eagles. Feeney scored three goals in 1:07 of play to make it 5-0 with 9:41 left in the first quarter.

Tori Katzenmeyer kept the scoring going with a goal :30 later followed by Feeney's fourth goal on the day to make it 7-0. Maloney put one in the back of the net with
Ava Schiltz scoring twice making it 10-0. Maloney scored on a Feeney assist followed by Schiltz's second goal making it 12-0 after one quarter.
Feeney scored her fifth goal of the game with 10:38 remaining in the second quarter, extending the Eagles' lead to 13-0. A goal by Katzenmeyer followed by Feeney's sixth goal, assisted by
Joslyn Brotemarkle, made it 15-0 with 4:15 left in the second quarter.
The Pipers got on the board with 1:29 left in the half with a goal from Aoi Suzuki to make it 15-1. Feeney recorded her seventh goal of the half with :25 remaining in the second quarter for a 16-1 lead.
UWL struck first in the third quarter on a Wrobbel goal assisted by
Anna Millard with 10:43 left giving the Eagles a 17-1 advantage. Hamline's (Minn.) Kayli Starkey scored on an Avery Wilson assist followed by a man-up goal from Ema Rehder, assisted by Emma Collins, to cut the deficit to 17-3 with 12:54 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Katie Klicker and
Jordyn Larue got on the board for UWL to make it 19-3. Feeney recorded two more goals, including a man-up goal with 4:01 left in the fourth quarter, for a 21-3 lead. Collins scored a man-down goal for Hamline (Minn.) on an assist from Wilson making it 21-4. Hendrick scored with :25 remaining to finish the scoring.
UWL finished with 31 shots in the game. Feeney broke her own single-game school record with nine goals. She previously scored eight goals versus Augsburg University (Minn.) on March 31, 2023. Feeney also broke her own single-game school record with 10 points Saturday. She had nine versus Augsburg (Minn.) on March 31, 2023. Schiltz had tied the record earlier of nine earlier this season at Augsburg (Minn.) on April 16.
Megan Maloney recorded three goals and two assists.
Maloney and Schiltz each recorded three goals Saturday with Brotemarkle, Maloney, and Brilz each recorded two assists. Millard led UWL with three ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Stefania Rossi earned the win, playing the first half, giving up one goal.
Bree Rhodes played in the second half allowing three goals.
Hamline (Minn.) totaled nine shots. Four Pipers recorded a goal in the contest with Wilson leading the team with two assists. Four players recorded a ground ball and three finished with a caused turnover.
Matilda Urbia suffered the loss, registering four saves in the game.
UWL returns to action Friday, May 2 in the WIAC Championships held at UW-Eau Claire. The Eagles earned the fourth seed and will face top-seeded Colorado College in the semifinals at 3 p.m. Third-seeded UW-Eau Claire takes on second-seeded College of Saint Benedict (Minn.) in the other semifinal at 5:30 p.m.
The winners will meet in the championship game on Saturday, May 3 at 5:30 p.m. in Eau Claire while the third-place game takes place Saturday at 3 p.m.
