Eau Claire, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse lacrosse team fell, 16-14, at UW-Eau Claire Wednesday night in Sonnentag Fieldhouse in its final regular season road game of the year. The Eagles drop to 8-5 overall and 4-3 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while the Blugolds improve to 10-5 overall and 7-2 in the conference.
UW-Eau Claire never trailed Wednesday as Samantha Burns started the scoring with a man-up goal with 4:47 left in the first quarter to make it 1-0.

Angie Olla assist tied the game at 1-1. The Blugolds took a 3-1 lead after the first quarter with goals from Alexie Romanelli (1:59 left) and Devon Crews (:46).
UW-Eau Claire extended its lead to 4-1 with 13:55 remaining in the first half on an Ellie Fisher goal. 
Ava Schiltz scored a man-up goal with 10:01 left for UWL to cut the lead to 4-2. Burns tallied two straight goals to give the Blugolds a 6-2 lead. After 
Megan Feeney scored a man-up goal for the Eagles with 7:46 remaining on a Wrobbel assist to cut it to 6-3, Victoria Shea (6:16) and Paige Kiani (5:01) gave the Blugolds an 8-3 advantage.
UWL scored the final four goals of the period to cut the halftime lead to 8-7. Schiltz scored with 3:12 left while 
Evie Brilz tallied a goal with 2:43 remaining to make it 8-5. 
Megan Maloney's goal with 1:34 left cut it to 8-6 and Feeney scored a man-up goal with :49 remaining to bring UWL within one.
Schiltz' goal with 12:10 left in the third quarter tied the contest, 8-8. Burns scored a man-down goal with 11:04 remaining to give UW-Eau Claire a 9-8 lead. The Blugolds would hold the lead the remainder of the game. Another man-down goal, this time from Jess Stiller with 10:25 left, and Reegan Werner's goal with 9:40 remaining gave UW-Eau Claire an 11-8 lead.
Brilz' man-up goal with 8:13 left cut it to 11-9. Feeney scored with 4:43 remaining to make it 11-10. Maloney assisted on both goals for UWL.
Stiller gave UW-Eau Claire a 12-10 lead with 4:29 left off Werner's assist. UWL made it a one-goal game with 3:39 remaining on Schiltz' goal, but UW-Eau Claire recorded goals from Shea (1:22) and Fisher (1:10) to take a 14-11 lead. Wrobbel's man-up goal with :13 left in the third quarter cut the deficit to 14-12.
The Blugolds scored their third man-down goal with 14:29 remaining, this one coming from Fisher, to give UW-Eau Claire 15-12 lead. Feeney scored a pair of goals for the Eagles to cut it to 15-14, the first coming man-up with 12:59 left and the second with 9:56 remaining. Schiltz assisted on both goals. Burns finished the scoring for UW-Eau Claire with 1:21 left to provide the final margin in the game.
UWL finished with 35 shots as Feeney tallied five goals. Schiltz had four goals and two assists while Maloney also recorded two assists. Wrobbel and Brilz each had two goals.
Schiltz had a team-high five ground balls while Feeney had a team-leading two caused turnovers. 
Stefania Rossi suffered the loss in goal, finishing with 14 saves.
UW-Eau Claire totaled 42 shots in the game. Burns scored five goals while Fisher finished with three. Werner led the Blugolds with two assist. Kiani had six ground balls while three players tied for the team lead with two caused turnovers.
Alexandria Shea earned the win for UW-Eau Claire, registering 17 saves.
UWL returns to action Friday, April 25 hosting Southwestern University (Texas) at noon.
