Manheim, Pa. - Thirteen members of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling team earned National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III Scholar Awards for the 2024-25 season.

New London (H.S.) earned the academic honor.
UWL's 13 honors are tied for third-most in NCAA Division III with Ohio Northern University. Augsburg University (Minn.) leads with 21 selections with the United States Coast Guard Academy second with 16.
To earn the award, a wrestler must have placed in the top-eight at the regional championship or compete in at least 15 matches and record a winning percentage greater than 66% as well as compile an grade point average of 3.20 over the last two semesters or a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20
Douglas, Hansen and Orlandoni earned their fourth career NWCA Scholar-Award while Lorenz earned his third. Draveling, Dennee, Dormanen and Schutte earned their second recognition.
Cherba, a finance major, went 19-15 at 149-pounds this season. He placed second at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships and fourth at the NCAA Division III Region VII Regional. Douglas captured the 285-pound title at the WIAC Championships and NCAA VII Regional while also qualifying for the national championships. He is an education major and finished 25-3 overall.
A business major, Draveling went 28-6 overall, including 27-5 at 174-pounds and 1-1 at 184. He was third at the WIAC Championships at 174-pounds. Hansen is a computer science major, finishing 17-6 at 157-pounds and placing fourth at the conference championships.
Lorenz is a business major. He went 9-2 at 141-pounds, placed second at NCAA Region VII Regional and qualified for the NCAA III Championships. Orlandoni captured the NCAA Division III title at 184-pounds, finishing 20-3 on the season. He also won the WIAC title and placed second at the NCAA Regional meet. Orlandon is a pre-med major.
Dennee went 15-7 this year, finishing 5-2 at 174-pounds and 10-5 at 184. He is a business major.
A physical education major, Dormanen was third at the WIAC Championships at 184-pounds. He went 26-8 overall with a record of 26-7 at 184 and 0-1 at 197. Majoring in pre-med, Flege was third at the league championships and finished 26-8. Schutte is a business major and captured the title at the WIAC Championships after going 27-7 at 141-pounds this season.
Majoring in business, Alobaidi went 26-9 overall, including 16-6 at 174 and 10-2 at 184. Holzer is a biology major and finished 24-12 at 133-pounds. He was third at the league championships. Magolski, a physical education major, went 26-11 at 133-pounds, finishing second at the WIAC Championships and third at the NCAA Region VII Regional.
UWL finished fifth at the NCAA Division III Championships while capturing the title at the NCAA Division III Region VII Regional and WIAC Championships under head coach
