Stevens Point, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team leads after the first day of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships (presented by Culver's) Friday night at UW-Stevens Point at the Skyward Fieldhouse.

UWL has 119.5 team points after eight events while UW-Eau Claire is second with 53.5. UW-Oshkosh is third (35.0) followed by UW-Stout (33.0), UW-Whitewater (30.0), UW-Platteville (18.5), UW-River Falls (12.0) and UW-Stevens Point (10.5).

The Eagles won four individual titles on Friday, including two on the track and two field events.

Gwen Hinz captured the mile run (5:02.29).
Becca Immer was fifth (5:09.29) for the Eagles withÂ
Madison Twarling seventh (5:12.67) andÂ
Lily Higgins eighth (5:12.89).

Anna Plautz took the 400-meter dash title (57.11).Â
Macy Reybrock placed second (57.69) and
Morgan Jennings sixth (58.54).
The distance medley relay team ofÂ

Bryn Sato took home the crown with a time of 12:33.65.

Elizabeth Schwartz was second in 5,000-meter run (18:03.17) Friday withÂ
Karlie Meyer eighth (18:25.50).

The Eagles won a pair of crowns in the field events asÂ
Macie Todd repeated as the WIAC high jump champion (5-6 1/2) withÂ
Izzy Bender tied for fifth (5-2 1/2).
Madilyn Vander Sanden took home the shot put title (44-2 1/2).
Jadyn Roden was fourth (42-8 3/4) and
Addy Moseler eighth (41-4 1/4) for the Eagles.

UWL finished with five of the top-eight in the pole vault. Maddy Habberstad placed second (12-10 3/4),
Emily Shafron fifth (12-0 3/4),
Marisa Harvey sixth (12-0 3/4),
Amanda VanCalster seventh (12-0 3/4) and
Jackie Bergeron eighth (11-7).

In preliminary track action on Friday, UWL advanced five runners, including the top-four spots, to Saturday's 60-meter dash finals and four in the 60-meter hurdles.Â
Lauren Jarrett (7.45) broke her own meet record (7.55) set last year at the WIAC Championships in the 60-meter dash.
Makenna Zak (7.65), Julie Yang (7.67),
McKenna Sedlacek (7.69) and
Anika Reiland (7.69) all advanced in the 60-meter dash with Jarrett recording the fastest qualifying time. Zak was second, Yang third, Sedlacek fourth and Reiland seventh.

Megan Zemke (8.99), Olivia Navin (9.02),Â
Brie Eckerman (9.13), and
Andie Otto (9.13) advanced to the 60-meter hurdles final. Zemke had the second-fastest time with Navin fourth, Eckerman sixth and Otto eighth.
