La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team won the UWL Caged Eagle Invitational Friday night in Hetzel Fieldhouse. The Eagles finished with 166.5 team points while UW-Eau Claire placed second with 73.5 points. Loras College finished third with 71.0. A total of nine teams competed.
Madilyn Vander Sanden
UWL won two individual titles with Ashley Davis winning the long jump (18-3) and
Mackenzey Kronberg the triple jump title (38-1 1/2).
Other top-six finishers in the field events included
Corrin Liptak second (17-9 3/4),
Rachel Halverson third (17-6 3/4), and
Ava Foley fifth (17-3 1/4) in the long jump.
In the shot put,
Madilyn Vander Sanden placed third (43-0 1/2) and
Jadyn Roden fifth (42-0 3/4).
Mady Friese placed sixth (5-1 1/4) in the high jump with
Ella Puls sixth (50-6 3/4) in the weight throw.
UWL had five of the top-six spots in the pole vault as Maddy Habberstad placed second (12-11) and
Araceli De Leo Lopez fourth (12-5 1/4).

Emily Shafron and
Marisa Harvey (11-7 1/4) tied for fifth.
On the track, Lucy Duchac placed third (5:02.08),
Brooklyn Luebke fourth (5:03.55), Gwen Hintz fifth (5:04.84) and
Becca Immer sixth (5:05.32) in the mile run.

McKenna Sedlacek was second (7.66) and Julie Yang third (7.68) in the 60-meter dash with
Megan Zemke fifth (9.04) in the 60-meter hurdles.
Morgan Schnelle was third (1:00.24),
Jocelyn Thomson fifth (1:00.53) and
Gretchen McNeal sixth (1:00.88) in the 400-meter dash.
The Eagles'
Jessica Wilson finished sixth (2:22.30) in the 800-meter run with
Makenna Zak second (25.42) and
Anna Plautz third (25.42) in the 200-meter dash.
Taylor Bussiere finished sixth (10:47.09) in the 3,000-meter run.
UWL returns to action Friday, February 28 at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships at UW-Stevens Point. Action starts at 11 a.m.
