La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's basketball team used a balanced offensive attack to lead them past UW-River Falls on Wednesday night.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN
- UW-River Falls got off to a fast start as they scored nine of the first 11 points to force a UWL timeout with 5:04 left in the first quarter. The Eagles would slowly chip away and pull within 13-10 at the end of the first quarter.
- UW-River Falls would extend their lead to 19-12 with 7:55 on the clock by scoring six of the first eight points. A three-point play and a three-pointer by Lauryn Milne would cut the Eagles deficit to 21-18 with 4:17 left in the half. After a layup by Karleigh Creasey gave UW-River Falls a 23-18 lead, UWL would get a jumper and a three-pointer from Grace Knupp along with a three-pointer from Madisyn Kilboten to give the Eagles a 26-23 lead with 1:34 remaining. UW-River Falls would tie the game on a three-pointer by Annamarie Aue at 26 as the score remained tied at halftime.
- UWL would open the second half with a 9-0 run as they took a 35-26 lead with 7:40 left in the third quarter. Braelyn Beiler would cut the Eagles deficit to 37-32 on a three-pointer but Ali Sprangers would have an answer as she hit her own three-pointer to put UWL up eight (40-32). The Falcons would score 10 of the final 14 points to trail 44-42 at the end of the third quarter.
- The Falcons would tie the score at 44 with a layup on the opening possession of the fourth quarter but UWL would score seven straight points to lead 51-44 with 8:24 left in the game. Spranger would score five straight to spark the Eagles mini-run. Trailing 53-46 (4:18), the Falcons scored seven of the next nine points to pull within two (55-53). UWL would hit five-of-six from the free throw line in the final 1:17 to seal the win.

- As a team, the Eagles finished 24-of-57 (42.1%) from the floor including six-of-23 (26.1%) from three-point range. UWL was also eight-of-12 (66.7%) from the free throw line.
- All five Eagle starters scored at least eight points led by Milne with 17 points while Knupp added 13 and Malia Nelson 11.
- Sprangers and Kailee Meeker each finished with eight points.
- Milne also grabbed a game high 11 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season to help UWL finish with a 41-35 advantage on the boards.
- UW-River Falls shot 22-of-59 (37.3%) from the floor including eight-of-28 (28.6%) from the three-point line. The Falcons were also four-of-nine from the free throw line.
- Olivia Hoerl led all scorer as she finished with a game high 25 points for the Falcons while Zoey Buchan added 11 points.
