Whitewater, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's basketball team could not overcome a slow start as they fell to nationally ranked #24 UW-Whitewater on Wednesday night.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN
- The Eagles got off to a slow start as UW-Whitewater scored 14 of the first 15 points and trailed 21-10 at the end of the first quarter.
- An Ali Sprangers three-pointer would cut the Eagles deficit to 28-18 with 6:44 left in the first half. The Warhawks quickly scored five points to extend their lead to 33-18 (4:40). UWL then scored nine of the next 12 points to pull within 36-27 with :25 left in the half. Two Warhawk free throws would make the halftime score 38-27.
- Trailing 47-34 midway through the third quarter, UWL went on an 8-0 run to cut their deficit to five (47-42) with 4:15 on the clock. A Kacie Carollo three-pointer would end the UWL run as the Warhawks extended their lead to 57-43 at the end of the third quarter.
- UWL would have one last run in the fourth quarter as UWL cut their double digit deficit to 63-57 with 3:53 left in the game. However, UW-Whitewater scored seven of the next nine points to take a 70-59 lead. UWL would not get any closer than 10 the rest of the way.

- As a team, the Eagles finished 21-of-51 (41.2%) from the floor including six-of-17 (35.3%) from the three-point line. UWL was also 14-of-17 (82.4%) from the free throw line.
- Molly Janke came off the bench to score a season high 21 points and grab a team high five rebounds.
- Joining Janke in double figures was Grace Knupp with 11 points while Lauryn Milne added 10 points.
- UW-Whitewater shot 27-of-58 (46.5%) from the floor including five-of-15 (33.3%) from the three-point line. The Warhawks were also 15-of-17 (88.2%) from the free throw line.
- Carollo led the Warhawks with 24 points while Katie Hildebrandt and Maggie Trautsch each added 18 points.
