Rock Island, Ill. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's cross country team captured the Augustana College (Ill.) Interregional Gold Race Saturday morning at Saukie Golf Course. The Eagles finished with 88 team points.
UWL also won the Blue Race on Saturday with 39 team points.
Trine University (Ind.) was second in the Gold Race with 108 points while the University of Chicago (Ill.) was third with 127. Washington University-St. Louis (Mo.) placed fourth with 169 points and Colorado College was fifth with 205.
Wartburg College, Iowa (257 points), Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, Calif. (261), UW-Eau Claire (277), Calvin College, Mich. (293) and Trinity University, Texas (312) rounded out the top-10. A total of 40 teams competed.
The race featured 11 of the top-30 ranked teams in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III, according to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
UWL is ranked sixth while second-place Trine (Ind.) is 17th and third-place Chicago (Ill.) seventh. Other ranked schools finishing in the top-28 on Saturday included Washington-St. Louis (Mo.) 10th, Wartburg (Iowa) 21st, Colorado College 22nd, UW-Eau Claire 23rd, Calvin (Mich.) 24th and Pomona-Pitzer (Calif.) 28th.
Five runners placed in the top-30 for UWL, including
Lucy Duchac eighth overall with a time of 21:58.3 on the 6,000-meter course.
Lily Higgins finished 13th (22:03.4),
Becca Immer 16th (22:05.7),
Brooklyn Luebke 21st (22:19.1) and
Madison Twarling 30th (22:32.0).

Mallory Reiser placed 36th (22:42.9),
Elizabeth Schwartz 47th (22:53.1),
Ryana Mathis 66th (23:07.4),
Julia Zalewski 76th (23:14.1) and
Molly Novotny 93rd (23:21.8).
Jules Bleskoski of RPI (N.Y.) won the individual title (20:47.4) A total of 349 runners completed the race.
In the Blue Race, Chicago (Ill.) was second with 40 points, Washington-St. Louis (Mo.) third with 63, Wartburg (Iowa) fourth with 119 and Hope (Mich.) fifth with 192.
Trinity (Texas) finished sixth (205 points) with UW-Eau Claire seventh (240), UW-Stevens Point eighth (257), Calvin (Mich.) ninth (278) and the University of Dubuque (Iowa) 10th (335). A total of 28 teams competed in the Blue Race.
UWL had seven runners finish in the top-19 in the Blue Race, including
Milana Pisto placing second (22:59.9).

Riley Clark of Washington-St. Louis (Mo.) won the individual title (22:48.6). A total of 309 runners completed the race.
UWL returns to action Friday, October 24 with a dual at Luther College (Iowa) at 4:45 p.m.
