Rock Island, Ill. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's cross country team competed in a pair of meets at the Augustana College (Ill.) Interregional Invitational Saturday at Saukie Golf Course.
UWL swept the team titles in the Gold and Blue Race.
RANKINGS:
* UWL is ranked third in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Poll.
TEAM FINISH – GOLD RACE:
* UWL won the team title with 67.0 points. The University of Chicago (Ill.) was second with 137.0 and Washington University-St. Louis (Mo.) third with 177.0. Emory University (Ga.) was fourth with 191.0 and UW-Eau Claire fifth with 210.0. A total of 35 teams competed.
* Chicago (Ill.) is ranked fifth in the USTFCCCA Poll with Washington-St. Louis (Mo.) seventh. Emory (Ga.) is ranked 15
th and UW-Eau Claire 20
th.
* The meet featured nine ranked teams.
INDIVIDUAL FINISHERS – GOLD RACE:
* UWL had five runners in the top-17, including
Marah Benedict placing ninth overall with a time of 21:25.2 on the 6,000-meter course.

TEAM FINISH – BLUE RACE:
* UWL won the title with 25.0 team points with Chicago (Ill.) second with 59.0 and Washington-St. Louis (Mo.) third with 104.0. Wartburg College (Iowa) was fourth with 119.0 and Hope College (Mich.) fifth with 136.0. A total of 29 teams competed.
INDIVIDUAL FINISHERS – BLUE RACE:
* UWL had four of the top-six finishers with
