La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team opened its 2025 indoor season winning the Pat Healy Classic Saturday afternoon in Hetzel Fieldhouse. The Eagles finished with 242.5 team points while Winona State (Minn.) was second at 83.0.
UW-Stout placed third (51.0) followed by Viterbo University (Wis.) fourth (22.5) with UW-River Falls fifth (20.0) and Saint Mary's University sixth (12.0).
Macie Todd won the high jump title Saturday.
UWL won seven individual events, including four on the track.
Lauren Jarrett won the 60-meter dash (7.37), breaking the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III record of 7.40 set by Wadeline Jonathas of the University of Massachusetts-Boston set in 2018. Jarrett broke the facility record of 7.47 set by Dominique Thomas of UW-Milwaukee in 2024. Jarrett also broke her school record of 7.41 set last season.
She also won the 200-meter dash (24.26) on Saturday, breaking Emma Lawrence's school record of 24.44 set in 2023. Jarrett broke the Hetzel Fieldhouse record of 24.93 by UW-Milwaukee's Natalie Block in 2023.
Jarrett's time of 24.26 ranks sixth in NCAA Division III history.
Anna Plautz took home the 400-meter dash (57.05) and
Alli Thomas the 800-meter run (2:18.10) on Saturday.
UWL won three titles in the field events. The Eagles'
Macie Todd took the high jump title (5-6 ½) while
Madilyn Vander Sanden captured the shot put (42-8 ¼) with
Samantha Barrett winning the triple jump (39-1 ¾).
Along with Jarrett winning the 60-meter dash,
McKenna Sedlacek was second (7.70) and
Taylor Molling third (7.83). Additionally,
Regan Scott was second in the 60-meter hurdles (8.88) and
Megan Zemke third (9.06).
Morgan Jennings was third in the 400 meter-dash (58.85) with Annika Reiland second (25.45) and Sedlacek third (25.94) in the 200-meter dash.
Kylie Stockton finished second in the 800-meter run (2:18.18) with
Mallory Reiser third (9:59.37) in the 3,000-meter run.
Madilyn Vander Sanden captured the shot put.
The Eagles swept the top three spots in the 4x400-meter relay on Saturday with Annika Reiland,
Sarah Grubbs,
Andie Otto, and
Morgan Jennings (3:53.54) taking home the title with
Anna Plautz, Maddie Hecker,
Macy Reybrock, and
Alli Thomas second (3:54.28) and
Morgan Schnelle,
Jocelyn Thomson,
Megan Zemke, and
Gretchen McNeal third (4:03.35).
Other top-three finishers in the field events included Maddy Habberstad third (12-4 ¾) in the pole vault. In the long jump,
Maya Evans finished second (18- 9 ¼) and
Jenna Miller third (18-4 ½).
Addy Moseler placed third in shot put (41-10) with Mackensey Kronberg third in the triple jump (37- 9 ½).
Healy, a member of the UWL Wall of Fame, Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Hall of Fame and the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Hall of Fame, served as the Eagles' women's track & field coach for 25 seasons from 1992-2006. He led UWL to 22 team trophies (top-four finishes) at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Indoor and Outdoor Championships in his career, including sweeping the 2015 national titles. The Eagles finished in the top-10 in 41 of a possible 50 national championship under Healy. He was selected the USTFCCCA National Indoor Coach of the Year four times (1997, 2000, 2001, 2015) and Outdoor Coach of the Year twice (1998, 2015).
Maddy Habberstad was third
in the pole vault.
UWL won 16 WIAC indoor titles under Healy and 18 outdoor crowns. He was named the WIAC Indoor Coach of the Year 13 times and Outdoor Coach of the Year on 11 occasions.
Healy served as UWL's head women's cross country coach from 1991-2001, guiding the Eagles to 13 top-10 finishes at the NCAA III Championships. UWL captured four WIAC cross country titles under Healy as he was named the WIAC Coach of the Year each season.
