Men's Track and Field Opens 2025 Season With Top Finish at Pat Healy Classic; Blaskowski and Conzemius Set Meet and Facility Records

Results

La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Men's Track and Field team opened the 2025 season by hosting the Pat Healy Classic Saturday afternoon.

THE BASICS

Results: UWL finished first with 250 points while UW-Stout was second (98 points), UW-River Falls third (28 points), Saint Mary's (Minn.) fourth (25 points), North Central (Ill.) fifth (10 points), and Viterbo University sixth (6 points).
Location: Hetzel Fieldhouse, La Crosse, Wis.
Up next: The Eagles will travel to Whitewater, Wis. to compete in the UW-Whitewater Squig Converse Invitational Friday, January 31, and Saturday February 1. Both days are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.

FIELD EVENTS

High Jump - Nathan Andringa finished first with a jump of 6-8 3/4 while Mitchell Eldredge finished third with a jump of 6-4 3/4.
Pole Vault - Andrew Tumminaro finished first in the pole vault (15-9) while Connor Boyle finished third (15-9), Caleb Moore fourth (15-3) and Ashton Moody fifth (15-3).
Long Jump - UWL had the top three finishers in the long jump with Sebastian Jefferson finishing first with a jump of 23-10 3/4. Andrew Hermes finished second (23-1 1/4) while Triton Schmidt finished third (23-1 1/4).
Triple Jump - Three of the top five finishers in the triple jump were all Eagles, with Gabe Olsen winning the event with a mark of 46-2 1/2. In second place was William Cady (45-11 1/4) while Carter Pearson was fifth (44-9 3/4).
Shot Put - Ben Youngworth led the Eagles as he finished in second place with a throw of 54-10 3/4. Spencer Prats finished fourth (46-6).
Weight Throw - UWL had the first-place finisher in the weight throw with Logan Powers finishing first with a throw of 57-5 1/2.

TRACK EVENTS

Mile - Owen Klaus finished fourth in the mile with a time of 4.22.60.
60-meter hurdles - Aaron Poelma finished fourth with a time of 8.54.
60-meter dash - UWL had three of the top four finishers with Evan Maurud finishing first with a time of 6.87. In second place was Ryder Smith with a time of 6.90, and Timothy Bailey finished fourth with a time of 7.09.
400-meter - Collin Conzemius won the 400-meter run with a facility and meet record time of 47.96. Chase Doornink finished second (48.53), Jacob Hohmann third (48.96), Andrew Hackbarth fourth (49.28) and Tyler Backes fifth (49.45).
800-meter - Nico Castellanos won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56:69.
200-meter - UWL had four of the top five finishers with Sam Blaskowski breaking the facility and meet record with a time of 21.34. Luke Vance finished third (22.16), Ryder Smith fourth (22.55) and Evan Maurud fifth (22.56).
3000-meter - UWL had three of the top five finishers with Adam Loenser finishing third with a time of 8:13.35. Aidan Matthai finished fourth (8:13.95), and Charles Vater fifth (8:15.25).
4x400 relay -The relay team of Conzemius, Hackbarth, Hohman and Ayden Hart broke the meet record finishing first with a time of 3:17.32. The team of Backes, Doornink, Dirk Lueck and Cael Schoemann finished second with a time of 3:17.52.
