Stevens Point, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team leads the UW-Stevens Point Invitational after first day action Friday night in the UWSP Aquatics Center.

The Eagles lead with 632.5 team points while Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) is second with 428.5. UW-Stevens Point is third with 273.5 with Hamline University (Minn.) fourth (105.5) and UW-Eau Claire fifth (22.0).

In Friday's action, UWL won six individual events while sweeping both relays. The Eagles'
Joanne Banaszak took the three-meter diving competition (400.35 points).

Other top-six finishes included
Hannah Martini second (396.45 points) in the three-meter diving with
Madeline Weber third (385.95) and
Abbey Thornton fifth (352.00).

Libby Cleveland won the 100 freestyle (55.33) on Friday while
Ava Pulvermacher captured the 500 freestyle (5:24.31).
Autumn Seebach won the 100 backstroke (1:00.25),
Natalie Austin the 200 breaststroke (2:32.94) and
Maddy Albert-Nelson the 200 butterfly (2:16.51).

UWL swept the relay events with Mikayla Knaffla, Pulvermacher,
Zoey Rank and Cleveland taking the 200 freestyle relay (1:40.36) while Seebach, Rank, Austin and Cleveland winning the 400 medley relay (4:03.19).

In the 100 backstroke Friday, the Eagles'
Jordy Hahlen placed second (1:00.74), Knaffla fourth (1:01.92),
Sofia Badillo fifth (1:02.27) and
Paige Rundahl sixth (1:02.34).
Makenzie Wallace finished second (2:34.05),
Callie Klepp fifth (2:35.99) and
Lily Rosenau sixth (2:38.17) in the 200 breaststroke.

Rank was second (2:13.18) in the 200 I.M. and
Emily Schoenbrodt third (2:16.99).
Brooke Laube finished third (56.23) and
Shefali Ramakrishnan fifth (56.41) in the 100 freestyle while
Amelia Olson was fourth (5:29.09) in the 500 freestyle. Kat Hutter placed second (2:19.48) and Badillo fourth (2:24.04) in the 200 butterfly.
