River Falls, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's basketball team pick up a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) road win as they defeated UW-River Falls on Wednesday night.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN
- UWL got off to a quick start as they scored the first seven points of the game including a three-pointer by Malia Nelson. The Falcons would tie it at 10-10 on a jumper by Braelyn Beiler with 3:48 left in the opening period. UWL would score six of the final seven points of the quarter to lead 16-11.
- Nelson's three-pointer would extend the Eagles lead to 19-11 with 6:47 left in the second quarter. After a three-pointer by Karleigh Creasey cut the Falcons deficit to 23-18, UWL scored seven straight to to take its largest lead of the half at 30-18 with 2:34 left in the half. Emma Jossie would give the Eagles a 33-25 lead at halftime with a three-pointer.
- Zoey Buchan would put the Falcons on the board first in the third quarter with a three-pointer to cut their deficit to 33-28. UWL then scored nine unanswered to take a 42-28 lead with 4:43 left in the quarter. A three-pointer by Lauryn Milne followed by a layup from Grace Knupp would give the Eagles a 47-32 lead with 2:22 on the clock. The Eagles would lead 47-34 entering the fourth quarter.
- Trailing 50-36, UW-River Falls scored seven straight to pull with in 50-43 with 6:57 left in the game. After a jumper would extend the Eagles lead to 56-45 with 2:43 left, the Falcons got back-to-back three-pointers from Creasey and Buchan to cut their deficit to 56-51 (1:29). Leading 61-56 with :17 left, Milne hit two free throws to make it 63-56 (:12). The Falcons would cut it to 63-59 on two free throws with :08 remaining but that would be as close as they would get.

- As a team, the Eagles finished 20-of-51 (39.2%) from the floor including seven-of-17 (41.2%) from the three-point line. UWL was also 17-of-24 (70.8%) from the free throw line.
- Milne recorded her fifth double-double of the season as she led the Eagles with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
- Nelson was also in double figures with 11 points while Knupp added nine points.
- All 10 Eagles that played scored at least a point.
- UW-River Falls shot 21-of-66 (31.8%) from the floor including seven-of-23 (30.4%) from the three-point line. The Falcons were also 10-of-12 from the free throw line.
- Olivia Hoerl led the Falcons with 15 points while Buchan and Creasey each finished with 11 points.
