La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's basketball dropped a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) matchup Wednesday night as they fell to #21 ranked UW-Stout.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN
- UW-Stout opened the game on a 12-2 run (5:45) which included three-pointers by Lexi Wagner and Mary Berg. UWL would limit the Blue Devils to four points the rest of the first quarter as they scored 12 points to trail 16-14 going into the second quarter. Katie Waukau and Ali Sprangers sparked the Eagles run each hitting a three-pointer.
- Kailee Meeker would hit one-of-two from the free throw line to pull the Eagles to within 16-15 on their first possession of the second quarter. The Blue Devils then scored 11 straight points to take a 27-15 lead with 7:30 and force an Eagles timeout. Leading 29-20, UW-Stout got a three-pointer from Raegan Sorensen followed by a jumper from Berg to give them their largest lead of the first half, 34-20. UWL would trail 37-28 at halftime.
- The Eagles would start fast in the second half as they opened up with a 12-5 run to cut their deficit to 42-40 with 6:32 left in the third quarter. Lauryn Milne scored five straight points during the run for the Eagles. Leading 46-44, UW-Stout used a 10-1 run to extend their lead back to double digits at 56-45 (1:38). UWL would get a layup by Sydney Torgerson and two free throws from Malia Nelson in the final minute of the third quarter as the Eagles trailed 59-51.
- After a layup by Mutch put the Blue Devils up 61-51, UWL scored 10 unanswered and 12 of the next 15 points to pull within 64-63 with 3:04 remaining. UW-Stout ended the Eagles hope of an upset as they scored eight straight and UWL would not get any closer than five (72-67) the rest of the way.

- As a team, the Eagles finished 19-of-53 (35.8%) including four-of-18 (22.2%) from the three-point line. UWL was also 27-of-35 (77.1%) from the free throw line.
- Milne recorded her fourth double-double of the season as she led the Eagles with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
- Nelson finished with 13 points for the Eagles while Grace Knupp added 10 points, five rebounds and four assist.
- UW-Stout finished 26-of-51 (51.%) from the floor including seven-of-16 from the three-point line. The Blue Devils were also 18-of-26 from the free throw line.
- The Blue Devils had four players in double figures as Sorensen and Mutch each had 20 points while Wagner and Amanda Giesen each chipped in 11.
