Eagles Win National Championship; Blaskowski Wins Pair of Titles; Schoemann WIns 800 Meter Run

Myrtle Beach, SC. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track and field team completed the Indoor/Outdoor sweep as they claimed the programs 16th National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) III Outdoor National Championship. Earlier this year, the Eagles won the NCAA III Indoor National Title in Virginia Beach, Va.

  • Team Results - UW-La Crosse won three individual titles and a relay title on Saturday to help the Eagles compile 76 points. UW-Oshkosh finished second with 48 points while Rowan (NJ) and Bethel (Minn.) tied for third with 43 points and Wartburg College was fifth (34 points). 
  • Location - Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium, Myrtle Beach, SC. (hosted by  Coastal Carolina University along with the Myrtle Beach Regional Sports Alliance)
  • UWL at NCAA III Championships - UWL has won an NCAA Division III record 16 outdoor titles and completes the indoor/outdoor championship run. UWL has finished in the top-four 29 times and in the top 10 in 33 championships. UWL earned 12 individual NCAA III All-America honors along with the 4x100 and 4x400 relay team at the 2024 Championships. Head coach Josh Buchholtz has now led UWL to 11 NCAA Division III titles, including six indoor (2009, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2023, 2024) and five outdoor (2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2024).

  • Triple Jump - William Cady finished seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 48-6. Cady earns his first NCAA Outdoor All-America honor.

    Track Events
  • 4x100 meter relay - The relay team of Collin Conzemius, Spencer Reichart, Sam Blaskowski and Luke Schroeder defended the teams title in the 4x100 relay with the second fastest time in NCAA III history (39.82). 
  • 100-meter dash  - For the third consecutive season, Blaskowski won the 100-meter dash. Blaskowski's time was 10.24. 
  • 800-meter run - After winning a national indoor championship in the 800-meter run, Cael Schoemann brought home the outdoor championship. His time of 1:48.65 also broke his own school record of 1:49.29. 
  • 200-meter dash - Blaskowski brought home his second individual championship as he won the 200-meter dash in a time of 20.63. Also earning All-America honors in the 200-meter dash was Schroeder who finished in a time of 21.25.
  • 5000-meter run - Grant Mattai earned NCAA All-Amercia honors after finishing seventh in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:19.03,
  • 4x400 meter relay - The relay team of Conzemius, Addison Hill, Jacob Hohmann and Caden Pearce finished second with a time of 3:08.57
