UWL Hosts Eagle Open; Wins Four Events

La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team hosted the UWL Eagle Open Friday night at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.

FIELD EVENTS

Triple Jump - The Eagles finished second through sixth in the triple jump Nick Crary having the best mark (47-1). Gabe Olsen finished third (46-3 1/4) while William Cady (46-2 3/4) was fourth, Brody Kluge (46-11/4) fifth and Carter Pearson (45-61/2) sixth.
Long Jump - Two Eagles finished in the top five in the long jump with Triton Schmidt (23-7 3/4) finished second and Andrew Hermes was fifth (22-9 3/4).
Hammer Throw - With a throw of 183-8, Aiden Williams finished fourth in the hammer throw while Logan Powers was fifth (172-11).
Javelin - Nate Lawrence was the Eagles top finisher in the javelin with a throw of 161-5 to finish second.

TRACK EVENTS

110 Hurdles - Chad Thompson Jr. finished fifth (14.62) in the 110 Hurdles and finishing right behind him was Lukas Johnson in sixth (14.75).
400-meter run - Chase Doornink led four Eagles in the top six as he was second (48.12). In fourth place was Jacob Hohmann (49.15) while Tyler Backes fifth (49.18) and Andrew Hackbarth in sixth (49.44).
100-meter Dash - Sam Blaskowski won the 100 meter dash with a facility record time of 10.09. Finishing eighth was Spencer Reichart (10.63).
200-meter - Luke Schroeder (20.96) won the 200-meter dash and Addison Hill was fifth (21.64).
800-meter Run - Parker Heintz finished fifth in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:55.65.
1500-meter Run - Two Eagles finished in the top five of the 1500-meter run with Aidan Manning finishing third (3:56.74) and Christopher Wolfe fourth (3:57.33).
3000-meter steeplechase - Elias Ritzke (8:59.12) and Luke Chaffin (9:12.38) finished first and second, respectively in the 3000-meter steeplechase.
400 Hurdles - In the 400 Hurdles, Payton Flood finished second (54.47) while Ayden Hart (55.52) was third and Dirk Lueck was sixth (57.90.
5000 meter run - Four of the top five finishers in the 5000 meter run came from UWL led by Isaac Wegner winning the event in a time of 14:12.78. Corey Fairchild (14:13.68) was second, Joey Sullivan (14:34.35) fourth and Aidan Matthai (14:45.89) fifth.
