Nine Players Score in Non-Conference Win at Northwestern (Minn.)

St. Paul, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse lacrosse team earned an 18-4 victory at the University of Northwestern (Minn.) Tuesday night at Reynolds Field. UWL improves to 6-2 on the season while Northwestern (Minn.) falls to 4-5. 

The Eagles led, 13-0, at halftime. Megan Feeney scored three of UWL's first four goals in the game with Megan Maloney also scoring. Ava Schiltz gave UWL a 5-0 lead with 6:45 left in the first quarter and Emily Wrobbel finished the scoring with :24 remaining to make it 6-0 after the first quarter. Kiersten Pelletier recorded three assists in the opening quarter. 

Pelletier and Schiltz scored a pair of goals in the second quarter. Maloney, Feeney and Kaley Hendrick also scored goals in the period. 

Grace Willmott made it 14-0 with 7:42 left in the third quarter before Northwestern (Minn.) notched its first goal at 2:15 by Cara Smith. 

UWL's Joslyn Brotemarkle had a pair of goals in the fourth quarter for UWL with Schiltz and Sydney Schmitz also notched goals. 

The Eagles of UWL finished with 36 shots. Nine different players scored with Feeney and Schiltz each finishing with four. Maloney, Pelletier and Brotemarkle each had two. Pelletier had a team-high four assists. Maloney recorded two assists and team-leading four ground balls. Willmott had a team-high three draw controls. 

Abigale Furlano played the first half with two saves while Stefani Rossi played the second half.

Northwestern (Minn.) totaled nine shots with Lauren Pair recording two goals and team-high three ground balls. Daisy Koffler had eight saves.

UWL returns to action Wednesday, April 3 opening Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) play at UW-Stout at 6 p.m.
