Men's Track and Field Competes at Azusa Pacific University, UW-Platteville and Long Beach State Unviersity

Sam Blaskowski breaks school record in 100-meter dash
La Crosse, Wis. - Members of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track and field team competed at Azusa Pacific University - Bryan Clay Invitational,  Long Beach State (Calif.) Invitational and the UW-Platteville Invitational Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

FIELD EVENTS
  • Hammer Throw - Logan Powers finished third in the hammer throw with a mark of 182-9. 
  • Shot Put - Ben Youngworth had the top mark for the Eagles as he finished fifth with a throw of 53-10 3/4. 
  • Long Jump -  Andrew Hermes finished second in the long jump with a jump of 23-2 3/4 while Triton Schmidt was sixth (23-0). 
  • Triple Jump - The Eagles had three of the top six jumpers in the triple jump with Nick Crary finishing second (47-3) to lead the way. William Cady was fourth (47-0 1/4) while Carter Pearson was sixth (45-10). 
  • High Jump - Nathan Andringa finished tied for sixth in the high jump with a mark of 6-6 3/4.
  • Pole Vault - Andrew Tumminaro won the pole vault with a mark of 15-0 1/4 while Gaven Lange (14-6 1/2) tied for sixth. 
    TRACK EVENTS 
  • 3,000-meter Steeplechase - Adam Loenser broke his own school record (8:44.88) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Azusa Pacific Bryan Clay Invite on Thursday night. Loenser's time ranks seventh all-time in NCAA Division III.
  • 10,000-meter run - Aidan Matthai competed in the 10,000-meter run at the Bryan Clay Invite and finished with a time of 30:30.89 which is the second fastest time this season in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
  • 800-meter run - Cael Schoemann competed in the 800-meter run and finished in a time of 1:50.51 at the Bryan Clay Invite. 
  • 100-meter dash - Sam Blaskowski and Spencer Reichart competed in the 100-meter dash at both the Bryan Clay Invite at Azusa Pacific University and the Long Beach State University Invitational. First at the Bryan Clay Invite, Blaskowski finished fifth out of 115 runners with a time of 10.51. Reichart finished in a time of 11.19 for 97th place. Then at the Long Beach State University Invitational, Blaskowski became the first NCAA Division III athlete to break the 10 second mark as he finished second out of 90 sprinters. Blaskowski's time of 9.99 broke his own school record of 10.13 set last season. Reichart improved his time as well as finished with a time of 10.90 to finish 56th out of 90 runners.
  • 200-meter dash - Also at the Long Beach State Invitational, Blaskowski and Reichart competed in the 200-meter dash. Blaskowski finished third overall with a time of 20.82 while Reichart was 50th with a time of 22.46. At the UW-Platteville Invitational, Collin Conzemius won the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.72. Finishing in third place was Addison Hill (21.89) while Chase Doornink (22.01) was fourth. 
  • 5000-meter run - Joey Sullivan was the top Eagle finisher in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:14.60 on Friday night at the UW-Platteville Invitational. 
  • 110-meter hurdles - UWL had three of the top four finishers in the 110-meter hurdles on Saturday at UW-Platteville. Chad Thompson Jr. finished second with a time of 14.88 while Lukas Johnson (15.05) was third and Bryant Yanke (15.25) fourth.
  • 400-meter dash - Davis Wenthe won the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.38. Also finishing in the top four was Jacob Hohman (38.83) in third and Tyler Backes (49.00) in fourth.
  • 400-meter hurdles - Dirk Lueck was the Eagles top finisher in the 400-meter hurdles as he finished second with a time of 54.01. Right behind Lueck was teammate Payton Flood in third place with a time of 54.43.
