Jordy Hahlen of
Muskego (H.S.) placed 20th in the 100-meter backstroke preliminaries (56.74) Friday at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The Old Dominion Athletic Conference and the Greensboro Aquatic Center are serving as co-hosts.
A total of 42 swimmers competed in the 100 backstroke preliminaries with the top-eight advancing to the championship final and finishers ninth through 16th in the consolation final.
Jordy Hahlen
Hahlen was making her first career appearance at the NCAA III Championships. She qualified for the championships with a time of 56.16 in winning the event at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships on February 16. It marked her second straight league title in the 100 backstroke.
She also placed third (2:04.26) in the 200 backstroke and seventh in the 200 I.M. (2:12.18) at this year's WIAC Championships. Hahlen was a member of the Eagles' first-place 200 medley relay (1:44.13)
Lauren Steien,
Emily Schoenbrodt and
Libby Cleveland at the league meet while being on the second-place 400 medley relay. (3:51.99) with Steien, Schoenbrodt and Cleveland. It marked the third straight conference title in the 200 medley relay for Hahlen.
Hahlen was the first UWL student-athlete to compete at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships since 2019.
